I use normal sun hat, and put on top of it Amazon basic headstrap for gopro. Works suprisingly well for me. I use rental kayaks, so cannot do any camera mounting on them :)
@@robertbloch1063 Ah, makes sense! I have a cap with a GoPro mount on it (I have the headstrap somewhere as well), just have to remember to look around slowly for the camera..
@@AirOnTheWater I do not do any special / slow head moves, just move my head normally. Need to keep an eye open on any unexpected boat wakes. Big lakes are used a lot by high speed boats. I mostly forget I have camera on, but Gopro fantastic image stabilizing does the trick I guess.
@@robertbloch1063 Yes, I think this angle provides an interesting perspective as well. For me, I use a chest mount a lot or a crocodile clasp mount on the kayak, but this is a nice variation.
@@AirOnTheWater Sometimes I lose footage because I set wrong angle of camera (sky view ;) ) - difficult to set it while it sits on forehead. Cannot see it, must do it by touch and feel. I tried chest mount, but it did not work for me. I use torso a lot while paddling, so camera view was like watching a tennis match. I also tried suction cup mount on a kayak, but had difficulties getting camera horizontal and (rental) kayak surface is not always suitable. Head mount works best for me so far.
