R.I.P Mr. Cunningham and Badger. Thank you for all those childhood memories of 90s television. You will always bring a smile to my face. Mashed potato! Thank you sir. God Bless x
“And a special big hello to people sitting on the toilet”….….this is 10,000% proof that Badger either traveled back in time to the 90s from present day, or was an Oracle that could see the future where everyone has pocket TV’s , which they whip out while they wait to wipe, watching weird and whacky shows from their childhood! Just don’t forget to wash those hands before you go off to make mash potatoes after this everyone!!
That's another way to look at it ;) Andy Cunningham was born 13/5/1950 making him 44 in this, I thought he looked older than that at the time. I was 1 in 1994 when this episode was brand new!
I was a bit old for this when it aired but I still remember the theme tune. Saw a picture of a badger online and there was the song right there in my head. That and MUSHROOM MUSHROOM, of course. Weird how brains work.
Fun Fact: Bodger and Badger are voiced by the same person (Andy Cunningham). Listen to the end of the line starting at 5:39, he slips into Badger's voice by mistake for a split second on 'potato'.
They should have been exposed as child snatchers a lot sooner. I’ll bet loads of those kids who entered those things went missing or won trips to visit the bbc studios.
Up until very recently I always thought someone else voiced Badger. Looking back now it's obvious when you watch Andy Cunningham when Badger is speaking (his ventriloquist skills aren't exactly en pointe).
I remember this well, season 5 had some rather good episodes back in the day. My favourites were Mr. Sellby's Pictures, Mashy Mouse, Cosmic Potatoes and One of those days. One thing I will say though is Mousey could have done with some serious character development.
How did I forget about this? 🥹 My childhood! I loved this series and remember 2-3 year old me killing myself laughing at badger throwing food everywhere 😂 "Scoop out the middle and put it carefully to one side!" Proceeds to fling the spoon over his shoulder 🤣
No, he created the programme for the BBC, he even owned the Badger puppets (there were more than one over the years) because he used Badger and other puppets in theatre shows and at children's parties before B&B started in 89 (he sent in an audition videotape of him performing the children's party act he did to the head of the BBC Children's Department). He wrote the programme, created the characters and even played the main character, so he was so involved in making the programme that only he could have pulled it off. Anyone else doing this would be nowhere near as good. Nice thought, but it wouldn't work.
