This series will cover two topics concurrently:
1. Preparing a Model Car body for a smooth, gloss finish by removing flash, sink marks, mold separation lines, rescribing body lines, restoring lost detail, priming, sanding, cleaning, applying a color coat, correcting flaws, applying clearcoat, wet sanding, polishing applying chrome trim and scripts and details, as well as painting the headliner and adding the glass.
2. Fixing the specific issues related to Revell's 1968 Charger Body as pointed out to me by ‪@TerryWilsonModels‬ (The specific issues are resolved in this episode!))
All of the topics, techniques and materials used in this series can be used on ANY model car.

Wishing you a belated Happy Father's Day. I'm really enjoying this series. I feel like the tips and tricks you are giving here will make me, and anyone else who uses them, a much better builder.

Another great tutorial! I like how you point out the imperfections of these kits and how to fix them. I dont think I can build at contest level but now I know what to do to build better for myself. Thanks for sharing. Happy Fathers Day!

Been enjoying learning from this series. Coachwork is so critical for model cars, and I still struggle with it several car models into my career now.

Thanks Frank, I was removing the Nubs and mold lines differently and never could get them right. I was using a dremel. Tomorrow I will try your way on my '68 Charger . 👍

Great video Frank ! I built one of those Chargers years ago with the vinyl roof - but I simply sanded that off. I think that would be easier than using putty? If that helps anyone. You have a lot of information in this vid and it was fun too 🙂 Happy Fathers Day !

Hey brother great video! I'm the same way, in my mind, if you want a realistic model those mold lines gotta go!😊

Never a manner of if, but when the glue or thinner will be knocked over. I did one better, I have a tendency to shake the glue before applying it and didn’t tighten the cap of course. So the extra thin went all over me, the floor and the bench. Smooth move!

Great tutorial as always Frank. I really appreciate your channel, good tips and very entertaining. I am also using the Dspiae sanding sponges and i often cut them to smaller pieces and hold them with forceps to sand in tight places. Thinking of the mold line on the rear panel. Keep up the great work. /JJ

Hi Frank, Thanks for the video. It's Sunday here in Australia. I just got it about 1 hour ago. You know these models are pretty pricy down here and add another 100% for the posting. Any way that's my bitching for the day. Thanks again for your info?

It's definitely been a week. VZ isn't sending us sites to migrate so work has been worriesomly slow. What do you do with your models when you are done how do you store or display them? Do you sell them? Give the away? I imagine as long as you've been at it you probably don't have them all. I have a book shelf I keep mine on, but it's filling up quick, I'm starting to double stack them in the clear cases. Another great video.
@FranksModelWorks

Most of them are given away. I have an IKEA display case that doesn’t really hold many models, so when there’s no room left at the Inn, I give them away at shows. I wouldn’t sell them because I don’t see them as having any real monetary value.

I like your comment on the Revell Monogram kit that comes with a body molded vinyl roof. I would like to get it and see if I can easily converted to a 68 Charger to duplicate Bullit's Charger. Do you know by any chance what is the kit number?
