For 1972 the complexity of the chatacter of the serial killer is depicted very well

What do you mean by “for 1972”? Complex film characters aren’t exactly a recent phenomenon 😂

Why was this brilliant soundtrack never released on CD?

The musics on the Blu-ray menu so presumably they have access to it😮

The CD was just released. Not only does it have the final film score, it also has the unused Henry Mancini score! I've just started listening to it, and the sound quality is excellent!

And that's why Alfred Hitchcock was the Master of Suspense.

This needs a 4K remaster just to immerse the audience of those times in London.

1:23 Trying to make posh boy Barry Foster look like a Cockney market worker was beyond the ability of even Hitchcock. So Rusk retrieved his monogram pin, but he left the broken blade of his penknife. That rigor mortis, nothing but trouble.

Great film and this should have been Hitchcock’s last film and it is so great and for me it’s much better than family plot 1976 this is my favourite British film that he’s directed btw Barry foster is brilliant and he should get an Oscar for best actor imo and Bernard cribbins is great in this movie

Some Continuity issues, with lorry tailboards managing to close and open themselves, but still a memorable film and a real period piece before the changes in Covent Garden.

My only complaint is that these appear out of order and I only found this after seeing the second part of the episode

this movies theme is food. The wife of the inspector who gives him all her new cookings, the murderer who workes into the fruit business and eats fruit after his murders, this scene about potatoes. This is classic Hitchcock. It has a theme and he continues this during the entire movie.
