I so wish I lived somewhere with this sort of skating community!! there are people who skate here but definitely not the same concentration or demographic.
CatScat feel that heavy man, I live in LI, NY and luckily enough have a boy friend who skateboards so I’ve seen that side of the community but it’s not as wholesome as this 🥺
Body Positive: To me...it's about accepting your flaws and loving the parts of you that you do like. I don't know how else to really put that into words. Ask the highest paid supermodels (the women AND the men) if there's something they don't like about themself and you'll get a resounding "Yes! I don't like my (fill in a random body part)." We ALL have things about our bodies we like...and those we're not fond of. As with life in general, you have to take the good with the bad. Even though there is something you don't like about yourself, there IS someone out there who does like that about you. Imagine a world where everyone looked the same, acted the same, had the exact same beliefs, the exact same likes and dislikes. It would be a pretty boring world! I know I wouldn't want to live in that world. So, I guess, in short...to me body positivity is simply loving yourself for who you are, INCLUDING those perceived flaws.
MystiqueRisingSun yes i love this ! Because we all have “flaws” we all have some parts of our body that we might not like or deemed “gross/ ugly “ but we only have one body and we have to learn to love it 🥰
@@KarentheKarrot EXACTLY! Sadly, I think many feel the message of body positive/body positivity means they *have* to love EVERY part of themselves. :( I don't know anyone who can honestly say that. :) That "bigger meaning" is simply: "Accept yourself as you are."

So unhealthy people who could die anytime is empowering. I don't think so eating healthy and having a healthy body weight for your height is empowering. Telling people Oh your fine if your obese is not okay at all not once did anyone in this video talk about health now why is that.Well they convince there selves that being over 300 pounds is okay when it's not you are not born obese you become obese I'm sick and tired of people screaming body positivity when they are over 300 pounds, like girl your skeleton is crying for you to lose weight. Being that size will only hinder you as you get older I mean you will most likely develop health problems and then you will ask your self how did this happen, like you don't know the answer. I would be okay with this IF they talked about eating healthy and working out. Sorry but this needs to be said.

Can you tell I’m new to the skate community by all my likes of old videos showing up? Lol my skates get here on Monday and I haven’t skates since I was a little kid. Maybe once or twice at a skate rink but that was also when I was way younger. I’m so excited. I hope I can find girls or boys to skate with in my area and have fun little skate adventures where I’m at too someday 🥺💞

Do rollerbladers ever attend these events/are they allowed to? Im a rollerblader whos also learning how to use quad skate and I have a couple of rollerskater friends and I've always wanted to go to a roll out 🥺

Very respectfully, Oh my ! ! ! 😍 But how do you stop when going down a hill that fast or even slow down for that matter? I would never not be completely covered if I skated at the beach, or anywhere. Not because of body shaming (fyi im not where I want to be) but for protection when I inevitably eat concrete throughout the day. Wish I could skate but I just never got it when I was younger. And believe me I tried. Anyways great video, all of you are awesome.
me and my friends are getting skates but i'm the only ones that can afford impala sadly 🥺 but i'm waiting for impala to restock the pink and yellow skates 🥳 exited!
I reccomend saving up for moxi beach bunnies, as they are the cheapest moxis are better than impalas. Impalas have a bad reputation for the skates breaking and aren't the best quality
