This was really cool, but i dont get it. How can they say theyve discovered these new waves when a local dude has shown them around and obviously is in the know? Just a q, happy to be set straight👍
Maybe the locals have seen it break before but didn't fancy it. Hugo & Mike are bodyboarders and looking for a death slab which might not be suitable for standups. Maybe it's in a remote part of the island and when it breaks, other more convenient waves are also firing
I was cold just watching! The stoke is real. So cool to see Mike as passionate about it now as when I got to see him and ride with him between 86 and 92. Huntington Beach days!
Am not really to be honest, surfing is easy enough, to become a good bodyboarder you need to grow a pair. If I was to have a choice to surf or bodyboard Aileens and Rileys in Ireland id take out the bodyboard. It's good to be able to spin around and get some air. Surfing is fun but bodyboarding is more exciting and fun. You'll see the bodyboarders laughing and howling in the water, the surfer's are more serious, grumpy and territorial.
Most bodyboarders surf too. They are completely different. Doing a 10ft backflip into the 1ft deep flats not only takes extreme balls but crazy skills. It's the difference between playing rugby and football.. two completely different sports both played on a similar pitch with different skillets. Or f1 vs rally...
