In this video, I'm discussing the Deadlift, a popular bodybuilding exercise. Some bodybuilders hate the Deadlift, while others regard it as one of the best exercises for developing strength and muscle. I'm debating whether the Deadlift is justified for bodybuilders, and I invite you to share your thoughts in the comments below!
If you're a bodybuilder, then you know that the Deadlift is a key exercise for building strength and muscle. But is the Deadlift really hated by some bodybuilders? In this video, I'm discussing the Deadlift and asking the community whether or not the Deadlift is justified for bodybuilders. So please share your thoughts in the comments below!

Gymnasts aren’t jacked because of hypertrophy from stabilization, it’s because of strength skills like let’s say planche, front lever, etc, that recruit fibers in your delts, biceps and lats like crazy. It’s the main muscle groups in the compound movements they do that make them grow, not any stabilizers to the same extent. This is why gymnasts are only well trained in the main upper body muscles.

The problem with deadlift and a lot of compound exercises is that you cannot effectively target an individual muscle group and train to failure, so the whole point of it training multiple muscle groups at once isn’t that helpful if you can’t effectively target any of them.
@MrOnion-en9bi

Thats the whole point! The risk to reward ratio is also very low on compund movements, given that they have the highest rate of injuries.

@@user-yy4ux9zf4r well the definition itself explains why bodybuilders would prefer doing other things. You’re not targeting soecific muscle groups which isnt ideal for them as they wanna have control and time under pressure on every muscle. Also not to mention as the guy in the replies earlier said, deadlift is a high risk exercise, and yes with proper form you shouldn’t get injured, but for most of these bodybuilders staying consistent and healthy is more important than lifting heavy. C bum being one of the main guys saying he would rather stay healthy so he works out lower weights and less compound movements

Deadlifting is an extremely good bang for your bulk exercise if performed correctly. However, it doesn't lead to hypertrophy so the tiktok lifters are CORRECT. Most gains are made from the eccentric (descent) part of the lift, but most people do deadlifts only on the concentric side and then drop the weight. Moreover, there's little time under tension since people try to lift it explosively which reduces muscle fibre tears and thus hypertrophy. The deadlift is heavily taxing on your CNS (central nervous system), making it excellent for strength gains but due to the nature of the exercise there is little muscle gain from it. You also cannot train deadlifts to muscular failure, as you will reach CNS failure before then and will feel too fatigued. Most people do multiple sets of 1-3 reps, which as we scientifically have proven to be insufficient for substantial hypertrophy. Exercises done within the 5-30 range produce hypertrophy results, and doing sets of 1 reps isn't going to do that
@israelfox1476
@israelfox1476 Год назад
The only reason people don’t do deadlifts is because they are one of the most dangerous workouts for any age group to do. You can get serious back problems if you use to much weight without proper form

@leni1969
@leni1969 Год назад
You could do everything right but the moment you lose a stability in the lift especially at the top, that is when the most injuries occur even for experienced lifters. There are simply better exercises that are far less dangerous that yield better hypertrophy. Hell people don’t even emphasize the eccentric portion of the lift and just slam the weights down because it’s too stressful on the tendons of agonists/stabilizers. Yet if you look at the data on eccentrics, they use less energy, reduce inflammation, and yield higher hypertrophy than eccentrics or isometrics.

I think deadlifts are just hard man, the glutes are suppose to be the primary movers, but there is almost no way the low back doesn't kick in, as you fatigue, and pushing towards failure. I'm a physical therapist, and I see it quite often. Also I think some people aren't made for it, I got short arms and I have to get so low to the ground to pick up the standard 45 with barbell. I think rack pulls is safer solely for the fact you can adjust how high the bar is. I just made a video on this talking about how deadlifts are bad xD.
