It strikes me that after the shooting, in less than ten seconds at least 4 police units arrived and no one called them. The 2 officers did not even report "shots fired" to the radio dispatch
The perp ended up being handed over to federal courts, where he got a 220-month sentence in federal prison. With "prison reform," that means he'll possibly move into a "transition program" after about 187 months. In short, he's going in at 24 years-old and will probably get out when he is 40. Obviously, HPD did a great job of building a case the feds would take.
@@funnyfarm299 There was an active Narcotic Investigation in this area. You can see most of them are in civil cloth and in unmarked vehicles. The shitty part is, their investigation is ruined now.
@@joeg5414 true that, except that his shots were wildly inaccurate. The only reason it looked like he had insane reaction time Is because the perp had to both cock it and chamber 1 round., and even with all of this extra he still managed to shoot an officer b4 either cop did. So no, they did not have quick reflexes. They need to work that out.
As a bit of hindsight, it might have been more advantageous for the co-pilot officer to have stayed at the passenger door of the pickup truck. His place have no where to get cover. But he is cool, done the job even after been shot.
One made a mistake by not watching if the guy grabbed something while exiting the vehicle. At first he was sharp by opening the door when the guy was groping around, then he got stupid by closing that door. I hope the officer lives and learns. The other officer ran off after firing his gun abandoning his wounded partner in plain sight of the nutjob. Partners, yeah right.
@@Pedro-fh6if i mean what do you expect them to do? Go to his partner in plain sight while not knowing the suspect my still have the strenght to shoot so both of the officers will get injured?
Cops a badass, gets hit in the pelvis, goes down on his back but doesn’t stop the pressure on the suspect. Might’ve been the reason why he’s alive still
Adrenaline is hell of a drug. The cop did not feel any of pain when he got shot though he fell down. He felt that like 10 seconds later. This neurotransmitter is always shocking me... edit: I saw once a suspect that was under a drugs and fell down after maybe more than 10 shots ! They were shooting to him like to a zombie for like 5 seconds...
If I may correct the title of this video the better title would be the following. 👉 "Bodycam Captures a Man Pulling Out a Pistol And Being Gently Nudged By Officers to a Peaceful Life" 🤗
Yes, LEO is so under appreciated in our country, the media just likes to report on the few bad apples that spoils the optics for the resounding number of awesome law enforcement personnel whom truly do "Serve and Protect" our amazing country! God bless those officers for their quick thinking and integrity throughout that horrible ordeal! 🙏
...police have such incredibly tough jobs, and they once again got a scum bag off the streets... support the police, they are our only defense against the horde of dirt bags....
@@soyyo684 I'm referring to what on point means to me. ~ 30 rounds fired, an officer seriously injured and a suspect grazed isn't on point. I'd think no experience would be required to understand that, but...

I'll never know how intentionally shooting someone is considered "Aggravated assault"... It's straight-up attempted murder and should be treated accordingly.
Some states it depends on where the bullet hits. Here in Arizona there is a myth that you're supposed to shoot someone below the waste in case they survive. If you shoot them above the waste allegedly that shows murderous intent. BS. The rule, according to my sheriff deputy step brother, is to shoot the bastard until they're dead because dead men don't tell their lying side of the story.
Same thing in most states. Easier to prove agg assault then attempt to determine when someone was actually trying to murder someone. In this case it's pretty obvious but not all of them
@@beng7415 It *should* be pretty obvious when intentionally firing a weapon at someone with knowledge that a firearm creates a substantial risk of deadly harm or death that you're not blowing them kisses and wishing them good health through lead injections but that's the stupidity of our legal system... I get it.
This is why cops are so on edge. The dude was cool and cooperative at first and next second he’s aiming a pistol at you trying to kill you. You never know who you’re pulling over
@ghostcantaimlol9113 yeah bootlickers try to pretend it's like this, but antagonism never starts until they try to remove the person from the vehicle lmao

Big time respect to the officer staying in the fight even after suffering a life threatening gun shot. He knew it was a bad area to get shot when you hear him tell them he's bleeding bad.
I’ve been binge watching these videos and now understand why it takes two or more officers at a “routine” stop. And what an amazing amount of training they have, to understand immediate medical care. God bless them all.
Having been shot in the thigh and knee, I can guarantee you that it is extremely painful. It was 18 months before I could walk anywhere close to normal. That was in 1989 and I still have a limp. However, I am still an officer with 42 years service. Glad these officers came out on top. Good job by all.
If the person who shoots the police survives after being shot, he should spend the rest of his life in prison. These people do not have the right to live in a free society.
He pled guilty to get a lighter sentence. He knew if this went to trial, 99.9 percent chance a jury would've found him guilty and sentenced him to life without parole. So I guess he got a wise lawyer or public defender to advise him.
@@ItsTravis__ about 20 years in prison. But he pled guilty. And pretty sure not because he was remorseful for trying to kill the cop. To avoid life without parole
Out on bond with ankle monitor, pulled over for suspicion of narcotics possession, and had an illegal firearm. This guy knew if he was arrested he was going away for a long loooong time. Well done, officers, you heroes.
If only we had gun laws. On bond with a weapon, illegal. Weapon with drugs, illegal. Illegal gun. Attempted murder, illegal. When will Congress act and pass some common sense gun reforms? sarc.
The reaction time and commitment to stay in the fight by the officer who was shot is incredible! Playing it back in .25 speed makes it all the more impressive. Officer had his gun on target the same time the perp did. The suspect got the first shot off, but the officer followed within a quarter second. I have no doubt his timing saved a life that day.
“Please save my leg!”…cry me a river. They’re suddenly so friendly, think they can make requests and expect help from the very officers that he just literally tried to murder a second ago. Kudos to these officers that have the restraint to still do their job professionally, respectfully, and render aid; despite the fact this piece of garbage doesn’t deserve an ounce of it. Glad to hear the officer will survive; can’t say the same for the shooter.
Cops have to behave - cameras are everywhere, including on their person. In the old days, that guy would have shown up in the hospital with a face swollen and bruised, almost beyond recognition.
People try and say cops are the bad guys. Here's a real quick lesson on why they are the good guys: if a cop has to shoot you they will render medical aid even if you shot at them first. Guess what the bad guy will not do: render aid after they shoot you.
It will only continue to go this way as long as america allows firearms to be legal. So sad these brave law enforcement officers put their lives on line due to bad legislation. God bless all law enforcement officers. They are so godamn brave. ❤️

That's a common houston and detroit problem.. Just like this incident even he'd attempting murder on law enforcement but the DA would just put a aggravated assault charges on him.
I know. A person can die for shoplifting a pack of chewing gum if they are stupid enough to escalate things with police enough. It isn't just about the stolen gum. It's about cleaning up society form this defective DNA scum.
they had warning. this was not a routine stop, this was requested by the narcotics boys, who were sitting across the street in those cars you can see in the parking lot. They knew he was selling drugs, they were poking him to see if they could find probably cause to bust him. they had pretty good reason to suspect things would be dangerous, the guy had an enourmous criminal record as was only like 19 or 20, iirc.
Men with this much courage and honor may well prefer a day that ends with this scum badly hurt, begging for mercy and headed for decades in prison without having his death forever being part of their lives. Think of the discipline and self control it took not to take him out,. oops,. In the aftermath. Heroes.
He has a GPS tracker which means he’s on probation/parole and has to comply with searches. He doesn’t get to deny lawful orders and this was explained to him upon his probation/parole release. Everything that suspect did was a telltale sign something was up.
@@Pyromattic777 Yeah those church and PTA ankle monitors are all the craze. No the ankle monitor is a direct result of his legal stupidity. And hot lead is a bonus prize.
The reaction time of the officer that got hit was INCREDIBLE! as soon as the guy let go off the seatbelt and reached for his waist the officer already had his weapon drawn 👏👏👏
These officers had less than a second to visualize the weapon (very difficult to see behind the door and “confirm”) before they had to respond with force. Good eyes, astonishing response, great precision, and outstanding grit by the wounded officer - just top-notch LE professionals!
This is why we can't have the law punishing cops for 'bad shoots.' If these cops were worried for even a second that they were making the wrong decision by pulling and firing their guns, they'd probably be dead. Cops can't be afraid of stopping bad guys.
I like how he mag dumped the asshole. If I'm down after a shot, I'm gonna put every round I have on that asshole until I'm dry, then I'm going to reload and keep firing. Too bad for them I'd be using a Calico Liberty III with a 100rd drum!!!
The officer who got shot..wow.. even after being shot he still remains calm and magdumps the suspect one handed while keeping the sun out of his eyes with the other. Well done!
Absolute shit medical response from the other officers though. You don't tourniquet for that unless the artery has been severed and they are bleeding out
@@KNR90 General rule for care under fire is if someone has been hit in a limb and you see blood, you TQ it high immediately. There was no time to cut the pants and find out as a complete femoral blow out can cause death in less than a minute. Putting on the TQ was the right move.
the fact that the officer pulled the gun last but managed to shoot first is crazy awareness of the situation and reaction. he knew his movements were weird he saved his own damn life hes a beast
@@-JohnSmith- Did you not see the shots landing right on the car where the perp was? The reason they need to put a tourniquet on the guy was because he got hit.

A shot to the femur is extremely dangerous. That bone is under an immense amount of pressure due to the surrounding muscles. When the bone breaks it tends to slip pulling the leg up. It’s not uncommon for sharp bone fragments to tear through nerves and arteries. Props to the cop for immediately retuning fire and identifying where he was shot
@@kikastra yeah I mean aside from the massive amount of veins and arteries, massive nerves, and very large bone under immense stress, I really think shooting someone in the leg is absoooolutely the safest option. I mean, it’s not like it could kill them or anything! It’s just a full leg. Those guys who get their legs blown off in war and die are just wusses, everyone knows legs are the best place to get shot!
Thought he was shot in his pelvis..not femur..where do u guys see femur at?**update: just got to the part where the cop said his femur..my apologies*** I should wait till the end of videos to comment lol
As a dispatcher, nothing breaks your heart more than hearing officer down come over the radio with no other information. We have to wait till things calm down to know if they are ok or not. It’s the only time dispatch is quiet.
Sounds to me like you have experience in this scenario. Either way, thanks for the work you do. My brother is a cop and has a great relationship with his dispatchers!
I went to middle school with the guy who opened fire on the officers. I thought he was a cool dude at the time, but he sure was troublesome. He enjoyed insulting people and saying very horrible things about people on Facebook, and he constantly got in trouble. After high school I would often find out that he got sentenced to prison for something drug/burglary related (and I think he once got arrested for stealing a Mustang), and each time he got out I wondered how much longer it would be before going to prison again.
Follow up to this video: Today, Chief U.S. District Judge Lee H. Rosenthal handed Bryan a 100-month term of imprisonment for drug trafficking meth. He also received 120 months for the firearms charge which must be served consecutively to the other sentence imposed. The total 220-month prison term will be immediately followed by five years of supervised release. In handing down the sentence, the court noted Bryan’s lengthy criminal history and the violent nature of the offense.
"Are there any weapons in here?" "Yes sir." "Is that an ankle monitor?" "Yes sir." So calm and routine, but a truly horrifying exchange. Soon as he said that every hair on my body stood up.
And just for all of those that don’t know most law-enforcement officers are trained to draw their weapon from a level three retention holster and get the first shot off and under a second and a half. It’s some thing that you practice over and over again just going through the training academy most officers probably fire 4 to 5000 rounds. It’s some thing that you just have to do repeatedly so it becomes muscle memory you don’t even have to think about it your body just does it. This kind of training is what saves officers lives and their fast reactions is what stopped the threat.
As a cop, I carried a Glock 21 .45 cal. It doesn’t always stop or kill a person right away. There was a cop who shot a guy multiple times with a .45 and the guy still fought the officer. I can link story/video if you like?
I’m a police officer from Ohio. Everything morning before work I have a routine to drawl my gun 10 times out of my gun holster as fast as I can within the 1.5 seconds. If I fumble my gun or drop it I start over till I can do it 10 times perfectly! One day practicing this every morning it could save my life.
The definition of BAD ASS and staying in the fight. Dude was putting rounds through the door and, his partner for tactically go around while reloading. 10/10
second officer was insanely quick to draw his weapon, god damn bro has a sixth sense. also props to the silver pickup truck immediately swerving and speeding to them ready to throw the officer in the back and go to the ER.
This is why it’s a great thing to always have a partner!! Two is always better than one. Great job officers!! I pray and hope other officer that got shot has a speedy recovery!! Great tactics and very fast draw!! Especially the officer that got it! Fast af draw! I’m glad it was.
He tried to murder police officers point blank with a straight face and calm tone of voice; and yet, whining about saving his life seconds later…kudos to our professional law enforcement
This channel really shows how for every 1 fuckup, cops actually do the right things a thousand times, and save lives (including their own) against these violent criminals. Sadly, the people who'd really need to see this, will never watch it, because it shows that criminals are like that and not the peaceful-but-misguided little angels they believe they are.
I watch this channel regularly, and they do an incredible job of honesty showing how good and bad cops can be. I’m very critical of LEOs when they make a mistake, but these guys should be on an honour roll.
The suspect - 23 years old... Did he really was about to end his life by what he did? Don't tell me he thought he is going to kill 2 cops and escape. LOL
Three cops on the scene. The shooter must have thought he'd take them all out. WTF you'd shoot at a cop if you didn't have a death wish I'll never know. It's really sad that these people survive.
What is wrong with these criminals… do they seriously think that they would get away without being shot and killed? It’s crazy to think that they would even contemplate doing so!!
