Bodywork Preparation - Metallic Stucco - Vintage Fiat 600 DIY Primer
In this video we will see how to prepare the bodywork of a vintage car for painting, how to sand the metallic putty on the sides and front of the car and finally how to apply the primer. With the premise that I am not a coachbuilder, but after a lot of work I got a very satisfying result, directly in the garage and without the use of special tools.
To begin with, I applied the filler in all the parts that had slight unevenness, with the help of sanding pads of different sizes I unloaded most of the metallic filler applied, finally to eliminate the step produced by the latter I finished with a sander random orbital with 220 - 320 sandpaper discs. Once I sprayed the bottom with the airbrush, exactly 3 coats, I sanded it with 320 - 400 - 500 sandpaper and finally 600. Now the car is almost ready for final painting.
