I work in the Air Traffic Control tower at Greensboro, NC. I've always been so impressed at how you guys can push those guys back so easily. You definitely have talent!
Awesome job you did. Always loved pushing 737s and MD80s. I think a great video to add if possible when ever you get 1 is how to an air start operation goes
I was out there this afternoon live streaming on the American side. The 777 pushed back and tower asked them which runway they wanted, and they said 26. Tower told them there's going to be a long delay with a lot of arrivals & asked if they could take 25R. They had to talk it over but finally agreed. They taxied all the way down to the west bridge & then all the way back to the end on the south side instead of using the east bridge. So they do use 25R, just very rarely. I was all the way down at the northeast corner of the T4 garage. Also I see that the heritage liveries on the A319s are going away but they're supposed to come back at some point on A321s. Allegheny and PSA I think are already repainted in the standard livery.
@@ladyandtheramp I love pushing planes. I always try to get that “perfect” push, but I’m never satisfied. Lol. The A300 and the 767 are big, but the MD11 and 747 are massive, especially the 747.
Say, what do you need to be a wing walker? Not far away from where I'm at is Toronto Pearson Airport, and while I don't have a driving license myself, I'm wondering if there's some sort of role I could fulfill. Basically, the software job market is very bad right now.
So to work on the ramp in PHX, in any capacity…you must have a drivers license :/ But there are other jobs you can do at the airport! Ticket counter, reservations, gate agent, etc…
Why do they have wing walkers in the US but not other countries? I get that the aviation regulations are different, EASA vs FAA, but planes are planes and airports are airports no matter if it is LHR or PHX. The risk is the same surely? Unless there are different markings on the ramp or a sophisticated GPS system for all aircraft on the ground, plus trucks, fuel trucks, tugs etc. Thanks in advance.
Im learning pushback currently and i get so confused about the turning. I dont want to over turn but i see some drivers turn the steering wheel a bunch of times! How do you turn so much without red-lining ??? Great push btw 😊
If you can remember that whatever way you are turning the steering wheel…that is the direction the tail of the plane will go. And sometimes…when I was leaning…I would have to pause before I got too squirly. Because you can start oversteering pretty quickly. Slow, small turns at a steady pace. I always try to make a nice smooth arc. You got this!!
