41+ years of flying, 25000+ hours in the air, 11 type ratings and all I have to say is that this is THE ride! Does not get any better than this... Captain, B757
My dad died and went to be with the Lord some years ago, but he used to watch the planes with his binoculars while listening to air traffic control at PHL from our old house in Norwood, PA which overlooked the Heinz Wildlife Refuge. He used to take me to the upper level of the parking garages at Philadelphia International. I can remember when he first saw his first 747 back in the early 70’s, and was so excited about it. I often think about how in this day of smartphones how he’d be in his element. The tools we have today Vs. the 1970’s to 2010’s is far above what there was in those days. He’d be very happy 😃
They’re like the rocket ship of modern day commercial aircraft built with engines that were way more powerful than they needed to be even with a full load of passengers or freight.
the only time i experienced a turn and burn was on a Virgin America a320. the engines started spooling up before we had even made the turn. it was great
Happened to me on a Jetstar A320, it was wild. Was going on a trip with my sister and she hadn't flown since she was a kid so she was totally stunned lol
Delta used to have a daily 757 service from Philadelphia to London Heathrow and I loved that journey. Nothing quite like taking a single-aisle over the Atlantic. They may be getting older now, but they’re still lovely aircraft.
On Whidbey Island, Washington the Navy would use a outside airfield to practice take offs. They had a sign that said “Pardon our noise, It’s the sound of freedom.” Loved watching them. They used to have a great air show every summer on the Navy base and Blue Angels were there. It was open to the public. Don’t have them anymore.
@@bombasticbusterii6926 Its not an "older term" it's military grade fuel with additives. Bottom line, a bunch of people with less knowledge read your post and will repeat JP8, furthering the dumb assing of society. I'll enjoy my decaf Jet-A, have some.
In Vietnam I was stuck at the Da Nang terminal bided my time watching Thuds or F-4's taking off at night. Kicking in the afterburners and rotation was an inspiring experience.
Damn, sounds like the controller just told a heavy jet to take off without delay. That used to be illegal. Guess when you lower the standards for controllers you should expect these things.
Well, the the motto states, "If it ain't Boeing; I'm not going"...I travel a great deal, and I've actually changed flights or carriers if it's not a Boeing craft !! I always feel calmer and safer on a Boeing!! Forever loyal, CJI
This was not a turn and burn takeoff. This was just a normal takeoff. Turn and burn is setting power in the turn so that the plane is already accelerating once lined up. The airplane in the video lined up on the runway, then set takeoff power.
@@jm1178 So I remembered this from the 80's We used to fly a lot as a kid 6,7,8,9 years old me. The plane would taxi from the gate to the runway where it would stop. And spool the engine until it start shaking and the just go off the brakes and fly. Also Remember they would turn off lights or dim the lights Sorry for odd explanation I was a child a im describing what I could remember. Also this was in Jeddah Saudi Arabia
You guys are right with the 757 that basically is the Ferrari of the Boeing aircraft and the big question is why did they stop building this Great Plane , for all your aircraft fans that watch this show . Why did Boeing stop building the 757 that's the question of the century .
Flew the PW 2040 and the Rolls RB-211-235 powered Boeing 757’s for 11,000 hrs of my airline career. Both were great engine’s. The PW 2040 would get you off the ground quicker, but the RR RB-211 provided better high altitude performance.
I haven't flown in a 747, or an AB A-380, or on a Dreamliner, but the 757 is my favorite. I love the cabin and the sheer power and greatness of this plane. I feel completely great and safe in this bird. Even more so than a 737. To me, this is the perfect jet. Not too big. Not too small. Just right. And the cabin is so spacious and comfy. I flew in these to/from Europe both times. Boeing outdid themselves making this one. It looks like a bird. I think even the bald eagles and beautiful birds admire it. If the 747 is the king of the skies, this is definitely the queen. If I owned any large jet, it'd be this one. A small jet? I'd go for the Cirrus jet. What's your fav? What'd you prefer?
@@L.A.FLIGHTS my one son goes bananas for sonic. But he changes it up a bit, he fixates on one character and every 3 years he seems to pick a different character and that’s all he talks about till the 3 years is up.
I was never particularly fascinated with airplanes, but I love watching these videos of planes. Wish they had filmed through take-off. And for the carbon footprint police: calm down. At least it's not a private plane and regular people do need to travel.
In the past when I flown you can always feel the speed when you're taking off but when I just watch it here it looks so slow and yeah I wish they would show up a whole thing 2
