Referring to the 797 in the present tense is absurd. You have no idea what its specifications will be, since Boeing hasn't even decided whether or not to build it.
Waste of time putting up a vid that is pure speculation, let's face it Boeing are in a bit of a mess, can you imagine how long it's going to take them to develop a new aircraft, they can't even re jig existing models like the 737 & 777, it's not as though they haven't had practice with the 737 it's been around for a looooong time Airbus will probably of had the next gen 320/321 out before the 797.
You call this content? B797 barely exists on paper and the A321XLR is close to delivery. It’ll take probably 10 years from now for the B797 to be delivered to customers if at all. Pie in the sky wishful thinking content at best.
I would go even further. Based on current performance, the replacement for the Airbus A320 series could well have been with the airlines for a few years before the Boeing is certified
What a BS-article. just clickbait - i knew it - but would like to see the comments. Boeing is far away from a new model. They are focussing on 777x and 737 max -crisis which costs a lot of money and ressources. And Airbus will deliver a proper reaction when needed.
At the same time, Boing will roll out the 797, Airbus will already have the A320 successor with open rotor engins and green fule compatiblity.... (Boing is already 1 generation behind)
There is one main issue with the logic here. Yes, there is a gap between the single aisle aircraft and the current twin aisle ones, and that the 797 looks as if it could fill that gap as well as out performing the A321. Where the argument falls down is that it fails to consider the possibility that Airbus could also chose to fill that gap with its own small twin aisle. Additionally, it is accepted that the A321 could do with a more power. Currently there is nothing suitable available to rectify this shortcoming. This lack of a suitable engine also means that there are no suitable engines for the 797 either. No doubt when they become available, it would be a relatively easy fix for the airbus to fit them to the A321 and even make the oten talked about further stretch of the A320 series. Not only that, being an enhancement to an existing aircraft rather than a clean-sheet design, it couod be operational years befor any 797 could be.
It was a concept from almost a decade ago, recently the airframe manufacturer vowed not to introduce new design anymore. They already have important matters to work on to fulfill new orders picking up dust. Let them breathe.
What ridiculous propaganda and nonsense - Boeing can’t even get the 737 mx series up and running now the new 777 - what a total joke this video is - they are at least 5 years from starting this project and 10 more away from it being commercial - stop talking nonsense
In what bizarre parallel universe is this going to happen? They gave up on the NMA years ago. No business case, despite the silly arguments given in the clip.
I guess you guys are trying to make a name for yourselves in the aviation video world by treating wild conjecture as fact. AFAIK, the 797 is currently NOT IN DEVELOPMENT. You think airlines are going to wait 10-15 years for an airplane while there is an actual airplane available that will do most of what they need? Click bait, not remotely grounded in reality.
Unfortunately, he is promoting something that may fly in 10 to 20 years and if at all, when they are not able to certify the 777X and other problems with the production of the 737, it is all very scary
This is all AI content and speaker. No personality and the answers to the comments are automatic. In this video the speed of speaker is 1/2 slower as all former ones!!
So what! It's gonna be another crappy "stretched" version of the 737 or shrunk de-tunned 787. That's the best case scenario because Boeing being Boeing we might get another "Franken MAX-300".
This is a nothing-burger. Airbus will most likely have an even more capable single-aisle aircraft in production by the time the ‘797’ gets FAA certification.
797 was shelved as a concept idea in favour of the Max series and 777X. Boeing dropping the 767 left a hole in that class of planes. As of yet there is no firm "new build".
Safety is the most priority! And, political interfering is another aspect for airlines to consider, as we witness current sanctions on Russian airlines or other airlines that are flying to Russia is something that unethical conduct against civilians.
Not true. Airbus was evaluating an NMA or 797. They ditched it. Boeing is far behind they think they are in front. Besides, who trusts Boeing to offer a safe aircraft. They are done and I do not fly on any airline with a MAX
This a typical American hype video and a load of rubbish. I would ask how long will it take for Boeing to certify it for service, based on their current performance think of a number and double it. This assumes Airbus are standing still which they aren’t, they are working on the A320 series replacement and will probably have smoother certification path.
They are probably paying his salary for a year with all this garbage he just spoke Boeing is dead to the aviation world we need new aircraft company to build safer aircraft ti fly on 😮😮😮😮
