The buckling that you saw there is only 4 months, so he does not pose any risk when he is with his mother. He is not physically agressieve and is not trying to mount her mother since she is no longer coming into heat. So this is just an issue of space management that we left the kid with her mother.
@@yardmangooner8908 I put Leah a d Beda Junior together to see if Leah will come into heat - even if I don’t want to breed her now but just wanted if she would come into heat and also to see if Beda Junior has good libido as well since we have not used him to breed any doe yet.
Great video there mate! What is the good age at which a female goat should be bred for the first time? Also, how much time should a female goat be given after giving birth before the next breeding?
It’s best to use weight than age to determine when to breed your doe. Let your does achieve around 70 of her breed’s weight before you can breed her. This makes sure that the doe’s growth is not stunted and that she will be able to successful be bred and kid a kid that will grow normal as per its breed’s standards.
The doe can come back into heat as soon as 21 days after kidding. But we don’t recommend breeding her at that time. We recommend at least from the second heat circle but best is the 3rd heat circle after giving birth. This will look the doe at least 2 months of rest before being bred again.
Thanks for your response. Very much appreciated. Got it, For first time breeding , the doe has to attain at least 70% of its maturity weight (depending on the breed) If you allow your doe at least 2 months of rest before the next breeding, does that mean you wean the kids at 2 months old? Isn't it too early?
