HERE WE GO! Welcome back to Locked Down Under! In this episode we make the trek out to Steep Point with the Toks. What a spot! The road in was shocking but the views were absolutely spectacular. After Steep Point, we check out Cape Peron before making our way to Big Lagoon! But it all goes wrong. Bogged vans, night drives, campsite dramas! This ep has it all! WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PART? Now this a real representation of every trip we have done, its never perfect but always memorable. Chasing spots to camp and avoiding getting bogged. Good times, locke down here in Melbourne, missed ours now camping trip, frothing now,,,,frothing!! Thanks again, great viewing

Another awesome vid Matt. I paddled past there years ago with some brave mates. We paddled the whole Ningaloo coast, ending in Exmouth. This brought back great memories. Enjoy mate, most of the population in lockdown, you timed it perfectly.

congrats Matt envious to having done all four! Steep Point is a great place, went there a few times while my parents were based at Useless Loop(closed town). Special area for me, magic place. You will find when its busy people have geny's on back of trailers, i mean full trailer geny's, next level. Great place

100% the worst road in Australia to steep point. Took me 8 hours coming out of there in the Troopy. Was just so bloody over the corrugations I sat in low range first gear the whole way 😂

We used to fish greencape NSW, off the rocks using the balloon method. We fished Yellowfin, Albacore, bonito and hooked a blue Marlin once.

Was there about a month ago. Corrugations were horrendous on the way in, (far worse than anything the gibb had to offer), but on the way back out they had just graded it so it was like a highway. Win some you loose some 😂

Good enough description for the balloon fishing 😅 the shark population there makes the fishing pretty touch and go, still one of my favourite spots, the corrugations on dirk hartog are 50x worse

The corrugations on dirk hartog island make those going to steep point a carpet ride Go there and have a crack. And make sure yr car is fully serviced with spares. Brake booster bottles. Suspension. Crap - just breaks

Such a good spot. Camped at South Gregories in April (had to leave when the cyclone came through). Would go back tomorrow. best spot once you are through the soft section! Looking forward to the next Ep. Hope you got to the Artesian hot tub at the homestead at the entrance to the national park!

Would love to see more off the track. We tryed the track in 2012 on our way arround aussi. But the entry was that soft sand that I turned arround. That was to risky on our own. But the road to there was baaad baaad korrogated back then as well.

We normally just call it balloon fishing. Its well known around WA, its gear intensive though.

Pretty good description, steep point and quobba station are the main hotspots for ballooning. Decent investment to get into tho

Back in the 80s & 90s Steep Point was a hard access. Before the causeway was put in it was 3 hours through big sandhills tracks like the long Tin Hill. Now to easy and every Tom Dick and Harry pillage the place. No toilets or shelter so if you got badly hurt it was a airlift out. The big sandhill near backing onto the drop off affectionatly known as Shit Hill, has the best view while going to toilet on the old milk crate with a toilet seat cable tied to it. Lol, those were the days

Good choice not to go to Gregory's I think Surprised you made it to Herald Bight with the van! When we went into Francois Peron NP all the tracks around Gregory's were super super soft!

if he is using DJI stuff, I assume he is - you can set to auto follow and pre-set flight routes on the screen. That's how I do it for my vid's.

@@Renegade040 i took my 16ft boat the entire way to the cliffs a month ago. And was also there at the start of the year. The weather and fishing is amazing all year round up there but summer us definitely the time to go up. Best time for ballooning there is whenever the wind is blowing southerly.
