Thanks for the comment! Sure I'll have to make another video at some point. Using the plugin and settling on different sounds is basically a lot of trial and error, just seeing what sounds best. It takes a while to find good combinations of cabs/speakers/impulse responses.
Beautiful tone coming from the Strat mate! I've got myself a Captor this week. I'm waiting for it to ship. I'm very curious to know how does it stacks as a loadbox + IR's against a mic'ed amp. I used to have a Jet City Jettenuator that I used for both purposes, but the Loadbox + IR tone was very compressed and had no dynamic range. The sound wave of the amp's audio capture from the loadbox was flat as fuck, you could see no peaks as you see on a mic'ed guitar recording. Just a peakless and constant wave form. I hope that I don't have that problem with the Captor!
Thanks for the comment man! I think you'll find the Captor plus IRs (especially in the wall of sound plugin) work really well. As long as you can crank you amp up and get the power tubes working, you should get some great tones. It works great for me with 3 different amps. Let me know how it goes!
Thanks man. The two amps are totally different 6L6 versus EL34s for one. The XTC has more of an upper midrange thats really nice, the Mark IV can get far more scooped sounding especially with the graphic EQ. Channel 2 of the Mark IV is ok, but the blue channel of the XTC is magic, especially on 'Plexi' mode. Footswitchable boosts are nice too. Cleans I would say are pretty equal, though the XTC might have a slight edge.

@@KelsterVonShredster that’s awesome glad you got one and thanks for the kind words. I always leave the amp in “new setting” I don’t like old very much. I using the tight voicing on all channels. I don’t believe I had plexi mode on during these clips, though it’s awesome on the blue channel with low to medium gain. Killer amp!
Hi they are both from the Own Hammer "OH 412 BOG ST V30" pack. I'm blending 2 IRs, one is "OH1F-04" and the other is "MDRN-M+" Hope that helps- thanks!
Love them both - the Mesa Ch3 with Graphic EQ is a legendary sound, perfect for metal that is hard to beat, and the leads without graphic EQ are amazing too. Bogner red channel is more mid forward, full bodied sound. Plus the cleans are amazing and blue channel / Plexi mode are great for lower gain stuff. I need both hah!
