It's not actually happening in universe, it's a fucking intro. Most people don't even watch it. It's just a little thing for fans who watch the episodes, watch the intro, and pay attention to the little details. In a more artistic sense, it could be that irrelevant of what happens in Bojack's life, he doesn't change.

No animated show has hit me as hard as Bojack. It was so real and bleak and gave a nuanced look into depression. Having finished the entire series, I'm starting all over again. Can't wait for the devastation, pathos, and brilliance of it all again.

@@antonmedina7425 i disagree that it's a choice. Dealing with life and experiencing life are two different things. I suppose you could say i have the choice in how im gonna deal with my depression, and yes i can live a functional life with it. But the apathy is still there. the feeling that you're not really experiencing life to the fullest. Sometimes no matter what you do that feeling can be beyond control, and thats not an excuse. Accepting depression doesn't persay make it go away, it just means you've accepted this is how it is.

Afaik, it actually happened to get it out of the way for all the fans that kept saying "OH he's gonna die in his pool, the opening foreshadows it!!" every season. The principle takeaway is that it represents his feelings of, you know, drowning in his own misery despite being supported.

@kristian rikardsen Yeah, but I feel like that is kind of inevitable when you have a show that deals with Hollywood and Los Angeles in the way that it does, especially dealing with that whole world of actors. Even when they do episodes like that, I feel like they pull it off really well. Also, with a show like this though, the more you get all the little inside jokes and references, the better it is, because there's a lot of them in this show.

Yeah, even in the smallest details. For example Guten Bourbon is a drink of choice and is seen frequently. Even messes in Bojack’s house remain, for example the smashed window from the party.

Such a beautiful intro. Notice how everything is going on around him and he doesn't take apart in anything. He also says to dianne and peanut butter that he will die from swimming out in the ocean and drowning and when he's sinking in the pool he sees peanut butter and dianne above him looking down on him. I examined this so intensely haha

When I first watched Bojack Horseman with my dad at the intro we both started to move our heads to the rhythm of music at the same time. This is a masterpiece.

God I remember the first time watching this my freshman year I was going through a ton that year my grandma was dying, my relationship was struggling and me and my family were growing apart I related to waking up everyday feeling empty like everything good I did was in the past and that there was no hope that I'd be stuck in that mental state forever but after watching the show and through some other life events I've moved on became a better person and everything around me improved unfortunately my grandma did pass but other than that everything in my life improved Thanks to this show for showing me that I can be better

I remember a couple years ago I started watching this show. I got to episode 3 and was bored so I stopped watching. Until this past week. Idk why but this shows theme kept popping up in my head, so I felt like giving it another chance. I'm so glad I did. Such an amazing show. I'll miss it so much.

Best Netflix Opening ever. Not only for the fact that is not just city shots, zoomed rotating things and stuff getting form -Like every other Netflix opening- , but the music and all the details in it, how they change it as the show goes, and that awesome music, it's just wonderful

I used to live at the top of a steep hill. Everyday after work I would play this in my headphones and joy up the massive hill. For a while, it was good, but in a few short months, my house was deemed uninhabitable due to neglect from the landlord and ai had to move. If it was still hospitable and not in a bad part of town, I would want to live there again and listen to this every time I climbed the great hill, because every day got a little easier.

I like how they show that being overly optimistic can be just as unrewarding as being overly pessimistic. While Bojack and Mr. Peanut Butter took completely different paths to get there, both ended up alone due to not taking the time to actually consider the feelings of those around them.

The show builds on itself and plays out more like a drama than strictly a comedy. And the show's writing and storyline gets notably better and more interesting after the 6th episode. By the end of the 2nd season the show is an emotional landslide the 3rd season only gets better. Having said all that stuff about how real and deep the show is, there's a lot of jokes peppered throughout the show, many of which are references to something that happened earlier in the show's history. The details are amazing, from the people included in the intro down to the headlines that scroll by on MSNBSea (The news network in Bojack's universe) All in all, if you like Rick and Morty, there's a chance you'll like Bojack, but I don't think it's for everyone. Hope this helps

Over There Well thank you it does help, im at episode 3 right now, and i still find it...okay. But i can see theres potentil to that show so ill still watch it. So far the characters (mostly bojack) are pretty well writen.

Sooooo......I just saw for the first time all the season's of this show from 1 to 6. And let me tell you, this HAS to be one of the BEST shows/TV series than I have EVER SEEN. I never expected something so deep and well written. This is going for my collection of shows than I going to watch for the rest of my life. In 20 years I'm still going to cry with some of the scenes of this show..... And now IT'S GONE and everything is worst.

I’d rather it not, it ended with such a beautiful finale that I wouldn’t want to risk ruining it like other shows. Not to mention when a show goes on longer than it should it gets bad.
