It's very helpful to watch the steps rather than just reading it. Thank you. Did you use soil from a soil factory that already broke down a previous bokashi batch to mix with the current bokashi bin output? I though we were supposed to use the old soil for that that need "refreshing"? Could you please clarify if I've understood incorrectly? Thank you.
No we used old soil and some of our homemade compost. We will use this rejuvenated soil in our garden. We have another batch ready to be harvested and will post a video on that.
Hi- this was a very helpful video. I bokashi compost as well. I am wondering if I could use a plastic bin or bucket in place of the bag with some holes drilled on the sides to mimic the bag concept. I live in Phoenix, Arizona. And it’s a very extreme and dry climate in the summers. Digging the ground becomes difficult especially in the summer but would like alternatives to digging, while using the bokashi bucket method. I have about 5 buckets on rotation and I just love the system. We are big fruit eaters. Loved your soil :) I hope to hear from you and thanks again for the very informative video. P.s. In a sense, does the bag concept mean an aerobic stage? I.e. we move from an anaerobic system to an aerobic one? Thank you
Hi, thanks for watching our video and connecting with us. Yes, I'm sure you can do this. There is a wonderful bokashi user in Germany who basically uses pots to rejuvenate her soil -- you can check her out on her channel here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TuF_4AE9gS8.html
If you can wait. My brother will be out at the end of the year from Minneapolis. He can bring some back and post from there. I think the shipping to the USA from South Africa will be very very expensive.
