people like to call deku a lame protagonist and to that I ask...why? he wants so desperately to be a hero so he can help people who can't help themselves and he is willing to do anything to achieve that. people can look up to that, the ability to never give up and if that's a lame protagonist then I don't know what a good protagonist is.
