Join me on a visit to one of Sussex best kept secrets, the fantastic motorbike shop called BOL D'OR. This Aladdin's cave of a shop run by Dave Young, has one of the most eclectic mixes of pre and post war motorcycles, your likely to ever come across. where else could you find an ultra rare Triumph Hurricane rubbing shoulders with Tom Cruises GPz 900. So join me on a little journey and indulge your motorbike passion.
Bol d'or has a website listing the bikes for sale, plus Dave offers a full range of servicing and repairs to most makes of bike, past and present. Dave's prices are incredibly competitive, especially compared to main dealer servicing.

Those 60's, 70's, 80's and some 90's bikes are so much better looking than the majority of the modern bikes.

We lived in Stane street when I was born back in 64, the family moved to Horsham a couple of years later but still have plenty of family in Pulborough which looks as if it has changed a lot. I worked for a short spell running the parts department at Codmore Hill garage when it was an MG specialist. I bought a VFR400RR NC30 from Boldor in Worthing which was a great bike but very single purpose. A friend of mine back in 81 bought a new black and gold 900SS Ducati from Boldor in worthing, it spent nearly all of it's first 4 or 5 months back in their workshop. Bill got fed up with it taking up space in the workshop and offered my mate a brand new CB900F in exchange - he snapped his hand off. I am living in Auckland NZ now but may have to plan a UK trip and put Boldor on my itinerary. Great to see, thanks for the video.

Great to see with many memories flooding back. Lived in Worthing for 55yrs & brought bikes from Bol d'or & even a Yamaha from Keys Motorcycles. Great to see Dave still passionate for anything with two wheels and an engine. :)

I remember the owner of my local Hampshire Fish and Chip shop won the Triumph Hurricane in the MCN spot the Moto ball competition, must have been in the early 70s . He immediately sold it , if he’s still around I bet he wishes he’d held onto it .

Hi chris yes indeed , sadly once they're gone we will be at the mercy of the main dealers, good or bad.

No one at a modern motorcycle shop wouldn't have a clue how to work on a classic motorcycle. Maintained properly they are reliable and dependable transportation. Much better than modern retro bike s. Vintage motorcycles were designed to be maintained by the rider. I have had my Triumph TR-6 with a hard tail and magneto for 40 years. Reliable and dependable transportation.@@theartisanrider472

A Moto Morine 3 1/2 was the same price as a CX500. That's $2,500. The Hurricane was 2 per dealer. It was more than a HD 74 with a king of the road package. Road tests ridiculous price for the bike was bemomed by many for it's high price.

hi yellow seven couldn't say regarding beckett location, what's great is that Dave is still active and carrying on the tradition. its always worth a visit for a look round and a chat, the mix of bikes either being repaired or for sale never ceases to amaze.
