The difference is that Katie was dying and everybody knew it. Nick was just trying to comfort her in her last living moments and things simply went too far. It wasn't something neither of them planned nor wanted. What Katie did with Nick wasn't nearly as the same as what Brooke did. Bridget was too harsh with Katie and judged and beat her to the ground. If there is one place where the blame should be placed, it's Nick. He was in control of the situation and Katie was very fragile and weak. Her body was shutting down. She couldn't think straight anymore. It can be argued that he took advantage of her. Like Bridget said, he couldn't keep his pants on. My sympathy was always with Katie. And ultimately, Bridget didn't turn out to be any better herself.
