It was the difference between Hope and Steffy back then. Hope wanted Liam to love her and only her when he married her. Steffy doesn't care who he loves as long as she is his wife. I love Steffy, but I kinda agree. She a little stalkerish. Every time they have issues she's there. Why can't Liam understand Hope is insecure about Steffy because she's always there. Very true, he is like his father in that regard. He couldn't let Steffy go cause she made him feel alive. She brought energy, spontaneity and adventures to his life. Add to the fact that she's probably the only other Bob Hope super fan on the planet lol. Steffy was perfect for Liam and deep down he knew it, but he always had this feeling of obligation to Hope. He made Hope all these promises about their future and he felt he had to honor them even if it wouldn't make him Happy. Liam is simply a fool who doesn't know how to own how he feels and make decisive decisions. And that's why he's currently alone today
