Stephanie refuses to don the maid’s uniform even if it means Sally will spill her secret to Eric. Sally says she may have let Stephanie share in her grief over Macy’s death, but it doesn’t mean their pals. Stephanie shifts the blame of Macy’s death on Brooke and believes that’s where Sally needs to focus her anger. Deacon implores Brooke to ignore Whip’s ranting believing he’s just trying to further his cause. Whip says Deacon has no self-control when it comes to Brooke, and thinks his point is proven when he learns they almost slept together again. Whip says Brooke’s carelessness could cost her Bridget. The three freeze when Bridget enters the room wondering what’s going on. Deacon cover story is that Brooke is upset with Bridget’s decision to model. Bridget is miffed because she now believes Deacon went behind her back. Whip manages to hustle Bridget out of the room. Brooke tells Deacon that Whip is right which is why she’s making plans to leave for Paris. Deacon pulls Brooke onto the bed.

Stephanie's tirade against Brooke isn't just her usual Reliable Narration, it's also an interesting commentary on what we're seeing in the other storyline in this episode. When Stephanie recounts how bad things always happen when Brooke "follows her heart" she's talking about Macy but it's also true for what Brooke is doing to Bridget. It's like the Stephanie/Sally scene is actually commenting and passing judgment on the Brooke/Deacon scene.

Yes! They are talking about what Brooke did to Macy in the past, while we watch her doing the exact same thing to Bridget in the present.

The three least attractive women on the show are Brooke (not pretty), Amber (straight up u&ly) and Bridget (weird looking). And yet all the guys want the first two and the last one is going to be a model? 🤨

Bridget definitely has the look for a model despite not being as attractive. Taylor, for instance, is stunning, but I can't imagine her as a model.

I think all three women are pretty. Amber definitely gets a very raw deal from the hair, makeup and wardrobe departments. I think Taylor is the most beautiful, but she is my favourite character.

Whip may be a grifter, but he is still 💯 right in everything he said, and he is the ONLY one who has specifically mapped out what it would mean for Bridget to find out the truth. Brooke and Deacon don’t even consider it. The writers literally have Deacon panting at Brooke’s feet for her. It’s disgusting.

I find it funny that sally loses her daughter amber loses her baby but the jezebel gets knocked up by her son in law goes unscathed 🙃

Yes! I said the same thing the other day about Brad's lack of a core morality in his writing. The fact that Amber and Brooke were pregnant at the same time makes them interesting character foils and the storyline _should_ have ended with Brooke losing her baby while Amber has hers. This would serve a traditional purpose and a kind of moral judgment: Brooke did something terrible by having an affair with her daughter's husband so she loses her baby while Amber, who is now a happily married and a devoted wife, gets her redemption after being punished the first time she lost a baby. The fact that Brad did it _the other way_ just shows that he has no feeling for these tropes or any kind of moral storytelling.

Stephanie is saying exactly what I wrote in my comment the other day - how Sally is Iashing out at everything and everyone, and that is why she is trying to get back at Stephanie for what happened to Macy, even though Stephanie had nothing to do with it. In this episode, with the help of Stephanie's reliable narrative, Sally finally manages to direct her anger over Macy's death at Brooke, which makes a whole lot more sense than Sally bIaming Stephanie. And this sets the stage for the next storyline, where Sally channeIs those feelings into a desire to compete with Brooke and win in a business sense, with Ridge and Sally working together at Spectra to take down Forrester Creations. (However, it is worth noting how skillfully Stephanie manages to divert Sally from putting the bIame on Thorne, where it _also_ rightfully belongs.)

*Fate, Destiny and Design* Sally and Stephanie's mention of "fate", specifically that Macy's death _wasn't_ an act of fate, recalls the discussion that *@Nick* and I had last spring about Fate and Destiny (regarding the difference between Becky's and Macy's deaths), and also his comments about the theme of Fate vs Design on the show. Becky's death was a random act of impersonal Fate, while Macy's death was not Fate (not "meant to be"), not Design (because, as Stephanie pointed out, nobody wanted Macy to die), but Destiny (caused by the personality fIaws of everyone involved). And Destiny is of course also Brooke's favorite word for when she acts without thinking (or caring) about the conseqences - one of those consequences being Macy's death. (Of course, what neither Sally nor Stephanie knows, but the viewer suspects after the Adam/Kimberly scene, is that Macy's Destiny has been intercepted by Design. Stephanie anticipates this reveaI by presenting an aIternative storyline where Macy would have lived, she and Thorne would have worked things out, and the two of them would have started a family, which is close to what actually does play out eventually.)

Yes! That's a great example of the two sides of Destiny. Brooke uses that word to mean the man she wants to end up with (her _destination_ ) but it could also refer to everyone she has to mow down along the way to get there (her _devastation_ ).

Brooke was/is so selfish. Sally's anger is misdirected. It should be at Brooke & Thorne.. Deacon should know a hustler when he sees one, he himself is one. Whip is more concerned about Bridgette than Brooke is. Brooke & Deacon are a sick pairing

I have got to agree with you… that was totally sick! Brooke is out of her mind… Deacon is crazy! Whip is going above and beyond the call of duty here…😮😳 This has to be Brooke’s worst ever storyline. I didn’t watch it the first go round.… I knew it wasn’t going to go well. But I didn’t realize they would take it this far. 😡🤢

I stopped watching in 2001 and returned in 2005 I didn’t realize how horrible they made Brookes character .I’m so glad I didn’t see it the first time.I liked Brooke when I started watching the show and when I returned in 2005 .Now I don’t know if I can like her again .First I had to watch what she did to Macy and now this!

@@-Lily7415 Well, I did miss these scenes shown today. Things are going to get worse for Brooke and Deacon when Stephanie finds out. Then Bridget will find out and want nothing to do with her mother. That will bring regretful Brooke back down to earth and she’ll be determined to work on herself and her wanton ways (with Stephane’s help no less). 🥹 It will get better for Brooke as she does a complete 180 in her personal life. 😣
