Deacon, Whip and Brooke are frantically trying to track down Bridget, and learn through Eric that she’s at the guesthouse. Eric warns that Bridget is very upset about something and adamant about not speaking to Brooke. Bridget says when she took Deacon back, she didn’t think she had anything to lose. Now Bridget knows she was wrong because Deacon took away her mother. Bridget is determined to face off with her mother, but she has gone for a walk when Brooke arrives. Stephanie makes up a cover story, but Brooke quickly realizes that something doesn’t add up. Stephanie admits Bridget knows the truth and starts to strangle Brooke.

It's revolting how even now all Deacon cares about is Brooke. He's not worried about how devastating this is for Bridget. Instead all he can think about is how Stephanie might be attacking Brooke. It's all Brooke. Brooke. Brooke. Just like how at Macy's funeral all Thorne could do was defend Brooke. What do these men see in this cheap washed out street walker with turkey j 0 w ls?

I love how Steph so accurately predicted how Brooke would say “I never meant for this to happen. I thought the marriage was over” This episode is another example of how weak Eric really is. Your daughter is obviously angry and distraught, and you’re just perfectly fine “welp, ok then I’ll leave you alone.” How does a parent who knows their child is going through something doesn’t immediately sit her down and insist she tells them what’s going on?

@@lil_jon411 bc Eric is clueless, useless, balls ⚽⚽less... And then had the gall to order Steph not to say anything to Brooke.🙄 And Steph was totally accurate in how she described Brooke's words.. She's been saying that from the start and she hasn't stopped since. Might hurt bridgit to hear it, but the truth hurts. Bridgit has seen her mom hurt other women countless times. She was even complicit in trying to get Ridge to stay with Brooke over going to be with his actual son with Taylor. I find it hard to feel sorry for her now that her mother's behaviour has turned on her. She's enabled this woman forever.

That was a poignant line from Stephanie when she quietly reflected that one more life had been destroyed, that this time it was Brooke's own daughter, and that Brooke wouldn't stop until there was nobody left to hurt.

Another of my favourite confrontations between this pair, I remember laughing my head off when it first aired in 2002. It’s very well written in that each give measured responses instead of just abuse or demanding to talk to Bridget, and it ties up all the questions nicely.

Stephanie repeating "I won't let you kiII her!" recalls the moment in episode 3795 (the scene with the mirror) when Stephanie told Brooke "Macy is dead because of you. And I'm not going to let you do that to Bridget!" So when Stephanie repeats those words now, we know that she is not only using them figuratively but literally. Stephanie feels that Bridget's actual life is in danger because of Brooke, since one other person (who was in Bridget's situation and shares many of Bridget's characteristics) has already died as a result of Brooke's affair with her husband. So now, Stephanie wants to protect Bridget the way she couldn't protect Macy, and this adds urgency to her words because she truly believes that the stakes are life or death.
