I dunno...nothing really wrong with the watch, but it doesn't give me tingles. I'm not massively crazy about how those two shades of blue work together. But that's just me...🤔
Almost a kind of royal blue and a sky/baby blue. This is a weird comparison, but when Everton (royal blue) play Man City (sky blue), neither team - generally - wear the away kit. I always like that mix of the shades, but it won't be for everyone! And honestly, I didn't think I'd be into it when I saw the renders. But in person, as with a lot of these things, it just hits different. If it's no tingles, though - that's something to watch out for. And good advice generally, Alex! If there's no tingles, bad news... Unless it's medical. If you have tingles....I dunno, that could be something, go see someone 😅
Overall I think this a nice watch. It's one of the very few instances where I don't hate the crown guards. In fact, I didn't even notice them right away, so we'll done Boldr. The bracelet looks good, but the clasp is hot 3 dollar trash. The date ghost position isn't a deal breaker for me, but between that and the clasp this watch feels too expensive to me by about 100 bucks. I think 7/10 is a pretty fair rating. I agree there, mate - I think if it was on sale, it'd be a very decent find! I also think more brands should make watches with this kind of dull, or even bead-blasted finish because the bracelet looked wicked 👌🏻
Appreciate the CA reference; although, despite being a SoCal lifelong resident, I’ve never been a fan of the California Dial. I do like the rest of the watch though. Entertaining and informative review as always. #freelumepip
It's my first time using a California dial for any prolonged period of time and I was surprised how much I liked it - I'm usually not drawn to anything that's not quite buttoned up... I think this suits it with all those poppy colours!
I love Boldr, love california dials, but this watch just has no pizzazz for me. I think a framed date at 6, and no red on the bezel would help a lot. But mostly I hate how the bracelet looks and integrates and normally I love Boldr's case shapes but this doesn't really do it for me
I think ditching the red might be a really good shout. It's quite subtle in person but maybe it'd make the watch look a bit less shouty with fewer colours in the mix. I'd also like to see slimmer lugs - these are quite chunky.
Seems like it’s pricey for an nh35 and kind of an average color scheme…plus, at least for me, I like California dials the same way I like Snake bites…not in my wrist. Great mom jokes though…
