Well congrats than, now you have a bland generic non eurowhite to show off. Plus they threw the only thing left for Condors brand identity, the condor yellow which has been Alu d since the 1950s, out the window. Like a reversed icelandair rebrand ^^

@@bikensai902 up until the 1940s actually very few aircraft were even painted. Similar to rail coaches, they were just non colored and only featured some kind of symbol of the respective airline, not for the passenger but for the ground staff to distinguish the different companies. Only when competition increased in the late 40s and early 50s, aircraft started being painted. The reason being sol for passengers to associate a certain quality of service with the brand. And this was only introduced to attract passengers to this certain status of quality, nothing else. This is the exact reason why many leisure carriers don’t even paint their aircraft at all. As they get contracted by bigger travel agencies, the need for self advertising is non existent, meaning a paint scheme to advertise isn’t necessary.

Wet leased airliners are barely painted in the leasing airliner and would bear the old operator's livery or some parts painted either to hide or promote something to associate with the new operator. The painted airplane helps ground crews, passengers and spotters to identify the operator and to carryon the associated tasks. We have ATRs leased from Austrian, Jet Airways and many more operated by Buddha Air. Still bearing the livery of the old operators. Nepal airlines operated Lauda B767, etc. The point for painting an aircraft is for identification. Which were theme of the past. Nowadays, the airframes are advertisement boards in the sky. Whether the service are good or not, staffs are friendly or not, the airline would cease operation or not, doesn't matter, the airframe should look shiny and filled with catchy graphics. Oh look! It's the XYZ airline with some patchworks of sponsored stickers. I absolutely love the modern concept of painting an airliner, for e.g, Air Asia, Turkish and Sun Express. Just finding it's fun and informative to interact with someone intellectual like you. Let's discuss further. 😀

@@dopepopeurban6129 New airliners will have to be painted because they are increasingly being made out of composite materials like fiberglass, carbon fiber etc. and also paint helps to prevent corrosion.
