I really appreciate the trend of contrasting dark door colors. Doors receive so much wear and feel worn, with fingerprints everywhere. These are fantastic color choices.
I’m with youLULC0759. Gray has been overused forever and it’s depressing to me. Every day is a gray day when you paint an interior gray. I will check out SW Black Fox. Thanks for mentioning
Plz do a video on tonal walls and trim. I’m thinking lighter walls with the same color trim in a different finish or slightly darker tone. I have a smaller house and I want to reduce the contrast of trim.
I used BM Stonington Gray on my doors with BM Super White on my walls. My house is a modern open floor plan with the entire back of the house with 25’ windows and doors. The colors are stunning!
I’m a spicy risk taker. I do the same door color as the rooms. In one room, I did Behr’s Black Sapphire and Tanzanite in matte. Ceiling is Black Sapphire, too. The door (both sides and trim) is Black Sapphire in high gloss. I’m doing the bathroom in satin Le Luxe. Door (both sides and trim), ceiling and cabinets in high gloss. I’m a Behr gal. What can I say? I’m usually at Home Depot! However, the exterior is in SW’s Downing Slate with Bolero doors. Some of my interior doors are Bolero too, because I had left over paint. It’s a fun pop in certain rooms. I don’t actually know where Benjamin Moore is around here. Sorry!
I just painted my whole main floor with reflexion, which has a light blue hue (SW), what do you suggest for trim Color if I wanted to change it up, I like these hues. TIA
We put up poppy seed by behr on our front door. Then my husband wanted to do the rest of the house trim in that color..I think its a bit much, but because its on neutral walls he thinks its ok.
Tacky and cheap-looking, but who cares right? I mean, for a TYPICAL American drywall house, the flimsy prefab style of plywood houses that mushroomed in the suburbs in the 50s and were developed by the same builder, I think these colors will go hand in hand.
We just painted our doors in Iron Ore by SW. It looks amazing. Now I need to pair it with a wall color 🤔 would love a Sw door video with pairing ideas 💡
Its a solid choice, probably my favorite black paint color. I've always been partial to a bit more of a charcoal interior door like Peppercorn, but Tricorn Black will give you the most contrasty look!
We have dark brown interior doors. I love the way they look but I do occasionally walk right into a closed door if I get up at night and don’t turn on a light.
I do that in my appart 4 years ago, and no regrets! I hope you love it over time. I change all color in my appartment except the door, now I cannot imagine white door 😅😆
I love contrasting trim and we did a lighter approach with Ladyfinger on the doors and trim (a very pretty light beige) with the lighter Linen White on the walls. Both by Benjamin Moore, and the creamy undertone of linen white works well with the the trim color. We were inspired by color combinations in the Benjamin Moore Williamsburg collection -there they did a lovely combination of Harwood Putty walls and Prentis Cream trim in the Nelson Galt House.
