Bolens Push Lawnmower won't start or run step by step carburetor cleaning fix!

Thanks for a great well made video!!! I bought one of these for $25 two years ago. It’s desire to not start reliably has helped me understand why I was able to get it for $25!!! I will be trying this to see if I can get a less maddening piece of lawn equipment.

Very good just don't forget to clear the gas line entry point where the float valve seats, this get clogged quite often as well. Plus its always a good idea to change the sparkplug as well.

On mine I didn't see much dirt inside but I cleaned it put it together works great now, thanks.

The Briggs 450e benefits from opening the carb jet to 20 thousandths - a stripped bread wire tie can be used to check that the jet is clear and big enough. Doing this helps the motor run better and cuts down on the need for carb cleanings. 👍

I am trying to repair this same Bolens push mower. I must be missing a spring or connecting linkage that engages the choke. The choke does not operate when I close the starting lever up on the top of the lawn mower handle where you push the mower. I replaced the needle, needle seat and cleaned out the interior parts of the carburetor. I even took apart the atomizer (white assembly) and made sure all orifices were cleaned out with a sewing needle. I put everything in the carb back together. I took my time making sure the white ring is put into place after the black o-ring inside the carb inlet into the cylinder. I viewed another youtube video covering all what I mentioned above. I cannot find any diagram or video by any other youtube channel showing what part that is missing as to not have the choke engaged when starting the mower. It will start with starting fluid but not without it. I guess I will have to find a retailer who sells this mower and take a few photos of what linkage or spring I am missing from my customer's mower.

My question may be a no brainer. I was given one of these that has been stored for the last 2 years. Unbeknownst to me it had gasoline in it... It worked fine prior to it being given to me.... I've have now emptied the fuel for storage... I didn't even try starting it on the idea I didn't want to further move fuel through any of the lines. Is it safe to say that this stored fuel has damaged the lines & that this type repair needs done? I know you may not be able to answer definitely- just trying to get a guess of likely hood's Or. is there any chance it may start nxt spring with it not having been started with the old stored fuel? Also can you share whether the fuel float will become unstuck once new fuel is added? Thanks
