Bollywood TOP GUN? Fighter Pilot Reacts to "FIGHTER" (2024) Trailer 

Ohhh here we go again, as an Indian I wanted to all let you know that aviation enthusiasts are very less in India who would value movies like TOP GUN. Here audiences are not mature enough to handle movies like TOP GUN and people are more into who is the Actor in the film (their fanbase would be the main deciding factor if movie is flop or not) and also they want spicy fictional stuff. They disregard any authentic things. So don't expect much in terms of reality, logic and sense.

I was on the flightline when I saw two HH-53Cs (Super Jolly Green Giants) diving, side by side, toward the runway. They leveled off about 20 feet off the deck and began trailing red and blue smoke at high speed as they continued side by side. About halfway down the 12,000 ft. runway, they both went into a steep climb, rolling over and going in opposite directions, they looped into a dive which culminated in a perfect crossing pattern just a few feet above the runway! This was a Thunderbird worthy maneuver if I ever saw one! I’m 75 now and this is still a favorite memory of mine!

I love how every fighter jet movie past Top Gun is just Top Gun. Its Top Gun, how can you not do Top Gun?

As an Indian, I am just happy to see that at least an effort is being made in the Aviation sector on bollywood 😂. Bollywood movies mostly(not all) are mostly compromised of Songs, Drama, a bit too much action(Indians love it most of the times 😂), etc. I personally stopped watching Bollywood around 2012 or something. But I definitely might watch this because it being about jets 😂😂😂 Edit: Also, I don't think Indian government would approve of Jets for movies because just recently Indian government allowed to have a few cameras in our fighter jets on 75th Independence day. So rules are kind of strict and hence all of it might be CGI. So personal suggestion is, please make no comparison of this with Top Gun because I know there are people who will do it 😂

I used to mock Bollywood for how over the top it is, but honestly I've learned to respect how relaxed they are and just have fun.

Another thing when he went inverted, the shockwave cloud. I'm sure the Flanker has tons of acceleration, but it would need a pretty good-sized rocket motor strapped to it to do that.

As indian we find these kind of movies funny 😂 Indian defence channels made the fun of these movie scenes regarding flying actions. We indians are feeling ashamed of these Bollywood jokers, they never make good movie on armed forces, sometimes they use wrong insignia 😂😂 some times make uniform look like very fancy.

I saw a display pilot roll inverted after takeoff in a Hawker Hunter at about maybe 500-600 feet. We all thought he was going to die but he had just enough energy and altitude to roll upright and climb away.

As an Indian, this movie made me and my dad laugh out loud, The CGI of this movie is good graphically but MOVEMENT wise it's terrible and we Indians are tired of the love triangle that's constantly in EVERY movie...

I have been an aviation enthusiast since childhood! I lived in a place called Viman Nagar (Viman literally translates to Airplane). Back then when I would buy Milo, Bournvita or Boost to drink with milk, I often got freebies like a badminton racket or a shaker. I remember getting sunglasses this one time. I would often wake up to the sound of Su-30 MKIs and wear two of the sunglasses so that I could look into the sky and see all the acrobats. That was and will be the best childhood memory I have of the Indian Air Force. 20 years pass and this movie is out, I OBV WOULDN'T MISS IT. It has some illogical stuff and some things are more Actor-centric but that's just how Indian cinema is. Also, FYI, 3:00 he does a flyby. Similar to how Maverick requests an ATC flyby. This inverted stunt is not right after takeoff.. He was already in the air..

This movie is supposed to be the dramatized retelling of the Pulwama attacks that happened in 2019 where an Indian army covoy was attacked in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. What followed was an arial surgical strike from the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and retaliation from Pakistan using their F-16s and JF-17s. This was the exchange during which a Mig 21 Bison of IAF shot down F16 of the Pakistan Air Force. The Indian pilot who shot down F16 was captured and later released.

I like the trailer so far. It looks fun to watch as long as they don't make it too cheesy.

On take off you need more speed, any aggressive maneuvering usually aircraft need to hold off until aircraft gain enough speed and clear runway. If it’s doing ailerons roll there are too much drag to hold it aloft , that needs to be assisted with a rudder, that is also not that affective at slow speed, and good chance lower wing tip stalling right into a ground. Also jets do NOT snap roll well as light propeller aircraft do. So as soon as he start rolling he will be a fireball into the ground, perhaps cartwheel.

I'm wondering if that wasn't a JF-17 rather than a Viper. The Jeff kinda looks like a Viper top down, and it's got a canopy bow and a center stick like shown here. It's flown by the Pakistanis too. I don't think it has a boom-type refueling door though...

Well in SU30MKI the afterburner colour is blue 🔵 ,it really looks cool.

I guess the Sherdil movie has some cool and more realistic CGI shots than the shots in this Fighter Movie, and if you are playing Air Force games then you must put the same color vibes of every jet, like Pakistan doesn't have green color F-16s with red Radar dom, but these guys put su 30MKI without any color and visible change, that's funny, go realistic with these Fire Birds and that will make it more Exciting

Clearing out a few things here 1) at 3:00 , he did not do an inverted at low altitude after takeoff. That was actually a demonstration of a dangerous maneuver that he was prohibited to do by his CO (think of it as maverick exceeding mach 10 despite admiral caine's orders) 2) Every maneuver is not necessarily copied straight from Maverick lmao. It is a movie about aerial combat. 3) there were a couple of shots in the movie where they made me think "what tf did they do. they could've done so much better" 4) there is one dance number in the middle of the movie and one at the complete end after the credits. 5) the movie was made on a budget of $30 million so thats quite commendable in my opinion. 6) the movie is based off of true incidents but the latter half of the movie was more like our usual bollywood mass action film. the first half was pretty much accurate and i loved the aerial action scenes to sum it up, the director did a pretty good job at it. hoping that he would make improvements in the sequel .

Also @10mins-ish.....green Viper has a centerstick. That's the spirit! 😅 Also also.....I think the Patty-guy is supposed to be in the Viper....That's a massive canopybow for a Viper 😆

Last part is exactly like the war thunder air superiority trailer where the F15 and Su27 met 😭💀

I just want to say, I remember you reviewed the trailer for "Airforce The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa" movie. You said you were interested to see it too. But I think you would be disappointed because the jets in that movie isn't the main focus. The movie focuses on a special airforce unit involved in counter-terrorism operation. The protagonist's brother was the SU-30MKM pilot in that movie. This Indian movie CGI looks very good to me. Their VFX artists experience doing Hollywood outsourced VFX pays off.

Its very hard to achieve what top gun has achieved. First of all we dont have any actor/actress that I know have fighter pilot license. But its good to see that atleast Bollywood is trying to make such movies.

Indian air bases are very strict with the amount of things you can do on a military aircraft only the air show squadrons are allowed to perform barrel rolls or loops so the amount of irresponsible flying in this trailer would get you grounded or even demoted for good

Yeah that older dude with the shades at around the 5:22 marker, his names Anil Kapoor, he never starred in Man on fire. He did have a lengthy role (as the president of a fictitious middle eastern country) in Season 8 of the TV series '24' though.

Its directed by Siddharth Anand. This director has thrown "realism" out of his dictionary around 3-4 years back. Before that, his movies used to be at least somewhat realistic. He has made a movie about NASCAR racing which in terms of filming and stunt work was really strong and realistic. But of course he didn't delved deeper into the details of NASCAR racing, the rules and regulations. The training and the physical toll it takes on the driver. During last 2 movies, He completely threw the words "Logic and Realism" out of his dictionary and just made a brainless action entertainer which was mostly just a fan service and it raked in some of the highest box office numbers for a Bollywood movie. So now this is a tried and tested method for him, and I don't think he will ever make REALISTIC action entertainer again. I was somewhat excited and hopeful for this movie as one of the screen writer, stunt coordinator and co-producer is a retired soldier of Indian Army, Maj.Ramon Chibb. His father served in the Airforce and he grew up around fighter jets. Technically, he should have a great knowledge of how IAF works and the maneuvers that IAF pilots perform as he grew up in a squadron leaders house. And while some air maneuvers might be same between USAF and IAF, but I don't think the cobra maneuver from "Maverick" is something that IAF uses or has used. After looking at the teaser, I'm actually a bit disappointed. But I'll wait for the trailer and to see some more aerial scenes and Dogfight scenes. Hopefully they'll also polish up the VFX and CGI by the time of release.

Wish i had a life like Abhinandan Chased away 14 enemy fighters which never entered indian airspace but also shot down one f16 before being shot down in an old Mig 21 ...which basically is a coffin ..in deep Pakistan airspace And then drinking tea like a chad in enemy country And return the same night back to his country....pretty cool ngl . Wish i had the courage like that .
