The problem is only with the North Indian celebrities especially most of the producers and directors in Bollywood always tries to depress South film industry. I dont agree with you regarding audience boycotting bollywood because of political ideology. If that was the case then Kangana and Akshay who are closer to right wing wouldn't have flop films. The main reasons are folows: 1) SSR death and people developing hatred towards the nepotism in bollywood actively supported by Karan Johar. 2) Hinduphobia content in bollywood for past 50 years which has now risen to a tipping point amonsgt the audience. 3) No creativity and originality in bollywood. Bollywood now makes only 3 kinds of films Remakes, biographies or historicals. There is no new concepts created like a bahubali or KGF or RRR. 4) OTT has opened the south to north audience which has led to an inevitable comparison with bollywood and the audience are no longer interested in bollyood.

Also I feel the amount of effort put is comparatively less....they only invest money and not techniques and talent.
