I found this on the internet! “The 583.1 was made by High Standard for Sears beginning in February 1946 and continuing for a couple of years. The number 583.1 was for a 12 Gauge. The 583.2 wasthe first of the 16 Gauge Model 10's. The gun sold for 18.45 new in February 1946. There will be no serial number on this model. This was one of the BA1 design series. The models that were recalled all were a part of teh BA2 design series."

Good job on the research! Higgins is the old Sears stuff… before all the Ted Williams labeled stuff. I’ve got a bunch of old Higgins stuff that was my dads and my grandfather’s. Guns, stove, lantern…. Old but they still work great!

The recalls where for models 583.13, 583.16, 583.17, 583.17A, and 583.20 they had a slight design change for those models. Which meant the bolt may dislodge and strike the user in the face.

Flair, if you do quesadillas again or even tacos, Taco Bell hot sauce with almost any wild game tastes amazing. Very underrated, I would say it’s a must to try at least once. I learned to dove hunt with a 20 gauge bolt action shotgun. I still shoot better with it than any other shotgun I own. Personally, I think a junk semi auto that jams often should be considered the handicap far more than a reliable bolt action.

Just for info as it’s always good to learn, not all cheeses are strictly vegetarian. Some cheeses use Rennet which is an enzyme extracted from the gut of a dead goat or calf. In the case of this vlog which just seem to be cheddar and jack which does not use Rennet. Example of cheese’s that do use Rennet are Parmesan, percorino romano, Gorgonzola, manchego, gruyere, vacherin. Vegetarians would probably avoid these.

Another way is pull the breast from the bottom (by the base where the breast come to a point) and pull it loose, stick your fingers on each side and pop the wing joints loose. Then stick your two fingers from above by the neck (using middle and pointer finger) put your fingers on each side of the breast and push down with your thumb on the breast bone wile pulling the meat with your two fingers and it will pull the meat right off the bone. In a sense you are rotating your wrist upwards (start with it bent down and rotate it straight). It takes about 15 seconds a bird when you get fast. It’s nice because it’s just as fast as pulling the breast right off but it also debones it at same time so you don’t have to cut it off after. Allows you to take the meat right off the bone very fast. Plus the two breast stay attached by that little connective tissue that runs across the breast bone. If you look up how to clean a dove in 15 seconds on RU-vid you will see a vid demonstrating how it’s done.
