Hello Tim! Thank you for taking the time to review my 02R! Well the, V1 was big I agree, this one is pretty wearable even for me with a 16.5cm wrist size, either way is a watch that needs presence as a whole, it shouldn’t be a small 36mm case that will look too beefy because of the height, but if you are use to using small vintage watches (like your gold Tudor) it will be definitely difficult to swallow 😅 cheers and thanks! ❤😊
I'd love to see you guys reduce the DR04 integrated bracelet to like 37 or 38mm. I love that watch but I can't pull it off really well. Its far better than the Christopher Ward 12 IMO and what 3 years earlier? If only it was a tad smaller!
Sergio, I think it would be fantastic at 36mm. I have a Brew Retromatic which is 36 x 10.5, and although it’s a little on the chunky side, blowing the whole thing up to 39mm wouldn’t make it less beefy. Rectanglular cases are their own category in terms of dimensions. Thanks for everything!
I saw this Direnzo on their website and thought - what a great looking watch. But once I saw it on your wrist - little bigger than mine - I know that its not for me. Thanks Tim 👍
Hight 10.50 . I think that mitigates some of the other dimensions and brings it in to the very wearable category. Lots of "real estate " but not bulky.
Seiko Sportsmatic from the 60's . Excellent . That's my playground also . Lovely watch .. I can guess what you paid and these are an absolute bargain. Beauty , history, functionality .Nowadays they are thought of as dress watches . No ,Sportsmatic . Its in the name. I am definitely going to post some of mine . That is a great watch to wear everyday. Pure Class. You have good taste Sir. Richard
Love Direnzo watches, own one, and they do email some questions when you order, at least for me, having to do with color. Not a fan of this watch, but that's a me thing. Seems the case is somewhere in between a tourneau and bell and ross case. THe dial is great, Direnzo does a great job with colors and dial presentation. Love your reviews, keep it up. Tschuss.
I was getting really increasingly excited about this Direnzo DRZ02r release, especially in orange with date. Just absolutely amazing design and execution. It's a design I'd love to own. While it was always obvious that the original would be far too big, the measurements of this sounded just perfect, while the bracelet looks special and gives the whole design language another boost. That said, on all images so far, I was a little concerned about the presence of that large top width of the bracelet and just how much metal is effectively on display, even if beautifully formed. My wrist is exactly 17cm as well. I also generally wear shirts. If I had a little background doubt dampened by my enthusiasm, I must admit now it is back with a vengeance. This is why trying on watches (in fact anything you wear or that is tactile), and good and varied reviews are important. I'm going to have to give this further thought. I've always liked the Mondial too, and funnily felt that the 40mm was borderline and the lug-to-lug a little over my ideals. Yet, I don't think you (nor almost anyone) ever had any complaints about it. The half links now available are crucial, though. It actually pains me that I have so much trouble deciding whether or not to get a Direnzo, which in terms of design prowess and quality is a no brainer, is proving so difficult for me. I love the unconventional touches throughout on the Aerolite, it makes the Mondial almost subtle in comparison. I wouldn't take myself for someone who'd wear orange or yellow watches, but Direnzo is winning me over... Having a slowly growing collection, I do know that dimensions of single mms matter. My beloved Makina Gabriel is bold and also entirely flat on the wrist, somewhat akin to the Aerolite. It is 40mm, so borderline. I love it, but it always feels like it sits slightly top heavy. A bracelet should help prevent this, but I feel this knowledge make the Direnzos a bit of gamble. Perhaps I should hold out until there is perhaps a smaller option or bide my time until I can take the gamble on the secondary market perhaps with less cash in the wager... I'm unlikely to find an owner in my corner of Mexico. I do re-emphasise that I deeply admire Direnzo's touch. Amazing work.
I'm not so sure that the original actual seems smaller because the bracelet is so wide on the newer version. To me the newer version looks larger than the original because of the bracelet. Just the face on the original looks larger but overall to me the newer watch looks larger.
Great vid. I think this watch would be great with a steel porthole-style bracelet as worn by Richard Dreyfuss in the movie "Jaws" - Alsta Nautoscaph perhaps? The circles from the bracelet would mirror the watch dial. That would be cool! Great vid. Keep at it!
Does it teleport you to Moon Base Alpha? I do hope you got Space1999 in Hamburg when you were young! It's bold. Not really t my taste, but I can appreciate it!
I think a really enjoyable design ! I'm sure I could enjoy it as is but at first glance , without knowing the size I'd imagined it a smaller watch all together and may have been rather compelled further . Very cool .
I really like my Mondial. And the retro-futuristic dial of the Aerolite I like perhaps even more. But I cannot make friends with this cushion case. For me, there is no elegance to it - it is so massive. And putting it on a different bracelet makes it even worse because it emphasizes this strange rectangular shape.
I don't think this is a terrible price. Start with the cheapest watch you can think of with these specs. Take that number and double it as this has an original design and a good looking design . Add 100 for good finishing. Add another 100 for brand and wow factor and you are at the asking price
