It’s a very cruel surgery where not only the claws but the bony tips of a cat’s digits themselves are removed, to prevent the claws from ever growing back. Kind of like removing the first section of each of your fingers just to prevent your fingernails from ever growing back. Very inhumane
Taiga Aisaka I'd say Bolt is more like Buzz because of his development of first believing he's a real superhero until a few events make him realize otherwise, but I do agree about Mittens being like Jessie.
This movie continues to be one of the only movies to make me cry multiple different times. Its such a beautiful movie and it pains me because of how underrated it is.
What's sad about this scene is that alot of times cats are accidentally left behind during moves. example: the cat goes in cage and people start lifting stuff and making alot of noise so runs away startled. people don't notice because they are in rush. later realize they left her behind and are sad because they really did love her.
@@mollymoonfan5939 Okay 2 years late, but declawing cats doesn't mean that one doesn't love them. I had my declawed but didn't know how wrong that was and regretted it to this day. We take good care of her and treat her with all the love she deserves.
Can we admire how dispite mittens hurting and feeling like she was 'abandoned' again she tried to be srong for rino and telling him in a way that's less painful so he wouldn't be as hurt as she was
Yeah! The conviction behind it, it's brilliant and beautiful. Because, despite learning his super-hero life was a lie, Penny's love for him is the only thing left he doesn't question.
Woody: No your wrong our girl loves me Jessie: No Woody, they think that but then toys get abandoned by the owners they love. That happened with me! Woody: I’m sorry that happened. If I…. Jessie: Get out of here Woody! I wished I never knew you in the first place Woody: Oh Jessie Jessie: JUST GET OUT OF HERE WOODY. Woody: Fine, see ya bitches
oliver wolffe the 4 main characters in the movie are all given their each defining quality. Bolt is given the character development. Mittens is given the tragic backstory. Rhino is given the comic relief. and Penny gets to be the driving force that motivates Bolt to find her.
This explains why she was a total bully, but I know she was having a rough time there but honestly she was kinda rude there to Bolt when all he tried to do is comfort her.
@@skyfaller3d417 :)) She has every right to be mad at Bolt. She taught him how to survive in the outside world, how to get food and make him realise he's just a normal dog, not a super dog. Without her, Bolt wouldn't have survived in that world and never snap out of his dream. But after everything she taught him, after all those things they went through just for him to leave her to go back to his owner. She feels betrayed by her most trusted one the second time. She was already went through hell when her owner declawed her and left her to fend for herself, so she can't accept another betrayal.
poor mittens :( you know if you look at her close enough she has tears in her eyes I don't know if anyone noticed. I feel really bad for mittens cause bolt was the one animal she really trusted and he broke it by running back to penny
How have I never noticed this as a kid, not knowing Mittens once had a family that declawed her and just abandoned her to fend for herself. That's just messed up.
I cried, it reminded me of my old cat. She got declawed and left by her owners. We saved her and she died about like 3 months ago. She was 19 years old.
My first dog Jude died aged 11 from an infection in 2020. I didn’t go to the vets because it brings back some horrible memories of nearly losing her to a horse accident 10 years ago
I'm 1000% a cat person, so hearing "...and leave their declawed cat behind to fend for herself!" was incredibly hard for me. The fact that even these days many cat owners really cut their cat's claws out is horrible. The claws are cat's natural defense tool, it helps them maintain balance and is one of absolute basics in their lives. Removing the cat's claws is cruel for them - almost like amputating part of the body. Mittens was permanently mutilated and abandoned and all she wanted for Bolt was to protect him and spare him the suffer that came with being neglected by their owner.
ya know, when i see this scene i can't help but wonder "What would have happened if Bolt decided to stay with mittens?" if you have an ideal alternate ending like this, tell me.
Penny would have died in the set that caught on fire, and when Bolt eventually discovered this, he would become heartbroken, perhaps even take his anger out on Mittens for convincing him to stay, and they all would have been miserable. Oh, and Bolt may have died of a broken heart; it happens to dogs sometimes.
I’ve had 2 dogs all my life since I was 7 years old and that’s when we brought Jude, then Wally 3 years after 2012. Jude died in the 2nd lockdown and we got Rosie just 2 weeks before Tier 4 lockdown last December
Even though I feel really bad for Mittens, and her anger and sadness is completely justified, I feel like she was a bit too harsh and mean towards Bolt, by lashing out on him and pushing the poor guy away. All he wants to is return is owner. 😢 But with that said, it’s understandable as to why Mittens doesn’t trust humans anymore, after her owners declawed and abandoned her! Plus, Susan Essman is pitch perfect as Mittens! Especially in this scene, you can hear the heartbreak in her voice! I just hope she was okay, after recording this scene. 😢💔 And John Travolta! Damn! I love this movie! 🐶🐱🐹⚡️
True, but her saying that _all_ humans pretends to love their pets is where she's wrong. Even later on in the movie when she saw that a heartbroken Penny pointing out that she missed Bolt, that's when some sense got knock into her
Cars to me is a good example of a movie that liked when I was young, And while I still think it's a good movie, I don't like it as much as I did when I was young.
Hope some kids pick up a life lesson from rhino in this scene, when your freind is in need, doesn't matter if they tell you they don't need you or they need to face it alone, YOU GO help them!!!
"No. No Bolt. That's what they do, okay? They act like they love. They act like they'll be forever. And then one day they'll pack up all their stuff and move away and take their love with them and leave their declawed cat behind to fend for herself! *Sigh* they leave her... wondering, what she did wrong.."
@@waterhorse_httyd657 This happened with me and the Holocaust 4 years ago but everything is back to the way it was. I can’t believe the war betrayed me like that
I'll be honest i understand a lot mittens cuz what she say are true in overall: at first peoples treat you like you're important to them and once they didn't consider you as useful you can die in front of them or throw in the trash it'll be as if you barely exist.
That tells she’s fed up with Bolt believing that a human would love him when in reality (in her mind) she’s just using him as a part of her acting job and has no real feelings of affection and love for him.
You know, Mittens story made me think of my own kitty in kitty heavens. One of her past owners caused something that made her lose the ability to purr. Well....she came to our family when she was 2 and lived with us for almost 11years. She was a happy and an amazing cat. Despite all she had gone through, she was so friendly and kind. Always wanted hugs and wanted someone to pet her.... One day.....I realized she was.....blind. You know for me, it was like I was getting an attack, cause she was so important to me and....we found out that she was sick one day and believe it or not, it had a great affect on me. Mostly on my school life, not gonna tell what happened but yeah. Anyways, one day, she didn't want me to go to school and cause I didn't want an angry mom, I had to put her wants aside and go to school. And the next week, when I was at my grandma's place....mom called and my heart broke when I heard she had died. Also, it made me regret that, that one day when she tried to stop me from going, I still went. It was like she was telling me something. And, you may not believe me and I don't say that you have to do it, but..... When the pet you love so much acts differently and jumps on your lap every second possible and comes on your way when you try to walk and then goes on your bag to stop you from going and it isn't normal for them....
I feel sorry for mittens she’s a declawed cat and her former owners abandon her and she struggled a lot to survive and find food and later she starts becoming friends with bolt and rhino and she offers him to stay with her to be a street dog and bolt refuses to stay with her because he had an owner who was penny and mittens has no owner which upsets her a lot because bolt is lucky and she isn’t
No. It’s that Mittens was upset (and believing) that Bolt is still living in a delusional life, believing he’s with a girl that’s not his owner, just an actor who uses him but never had any real love or affection to him. And that when he’s not around, Penny will have a replacement dog and forget about Bolt. So she’s was almost trying to prevent Bolt from keep going back to Penny to avoid him suffering the same hurt that her former owners that tore out her claws and abandoned her.
Truthfully, yeah. If she didn’t die from a broken heart at the loss of her dog, she would have died in the studio fire Bolt wouldn’t have been there to save her from. So I’d say that’s pretty accurate.
I came back to this movie after hearing Mitten's line about love on tiktok because years later I went through that so many times including with a boy who I thought loved me and it hits really hard.
Now 5 years later, I’m wondering where he is now but I think he still loves me for sure. We would have celebrated our 5th anniversary in February recently
IMO, Mittens is like Jessie, and Bolt is like both Buzz and Woody. Like Buzz, Bolt initially believes he’s a real superhero, and like Woody, shows loyalty towards his owner, and becomes more willing to show his true purpose in life. And Mittens is like Jessie because her owners abandoned her, and she became mistrustful towards humans, too. 😊
I loved that Woody never gave up and now that’s me after Prince Philip died last year. I almost given up but I finally realised Prince Philip would be devastated in me if I did. That would have been his wish
I wouldn't have empathy for Mittens. I would hire Death to find her.🐺 1:06-1:07 Imagine if he said "Yeah" instead. He would say it like how John Wick says it.
A lot of people like to accuse Bolt of ripping off the first two Toy Stories, by saying Bolt and Mittens are too similar to Buzz and Jessie. And while that may be true, I think in Bolt’s case, his arc is slightly more compelling, since, unlike Buzz, once he finds out the truth about himself, he learns how to be real dog. And in Mittens’ case, unlike Jessie, she manages to convince Bolt that Penny actually does love him and realises that she was wrong about humans, based on what she saw. 😊👍
I never wanted to leave my cat he got lost I looked for days and he was no where found and his brother I don’t want them to feel like mitten and ik they are humans but they still feel
Jon Arbuckle would never do that to Garfield even though he gives him his favorite food, he is very cruel when punishing him for something he didn't do or if he doesn't get rid of the mice that are his friends, in the Little Yellow Riding Hood and The curse of the Were Dog Oddie was at fault and got Garfield punished.
