Took my daughter to her first rock show (Overkill, Heathen, Exhorder & SUNLORD) & guess who was the only band at the merch? SUNLORD were all there signing anything, posing for pics. Guess whose stuff we brought more of, yep SUNLORD! Treated my daughter with great respect & made her feel so appreciated that she’s got me hunting down anything SUNLORD online. What you said is 100% truth!
Headsplit is easily the best label in the underground. Everything Dylan releases is consistently killer. Never a bad release. That Melting Rot is no exception - it's so fucking good.
One of the times I met Will Rahmer, he was at the merch table. This was the tour right before Domain of Death came out, so there was a limited tour edition available at the shows, as the artwork wasn't ready yet. I remember talking to him about the album and bought that limited tour edition from him. Listened to it a bunch of times, then still bought the regular CD when it came out later. Question time: Whose idea were the more elaborate packaging designs that HHR has done? I am mainly talking about the coffin box of the Deceased demos and the meat cleaver box version of Embalmer's There Was Blood Everywhere.
I agree about Immolation. Ross has a really cool and unique voice. I like Cannibal with both singers. I'm glad Barnes is gone. George still sounds good. Barnes voice is shredded. On the first Hate Eternal tour Jared the original bass player worked the merch table. I didn't like the band on stage so I spent their set talking metal with Jared. Everyone else was watching the current band so It was just me and him shooting the shit for a good 40 minutes. He was a really cool guy.

I was fortunate enough to meet and hang out with Doc, Mauser, and the rest of Vader and the guys from Goatwhore at some random person's house party in Chicago after they played a show in 2004 I think. Super cool guys. Doc and Mauser were extremely friendly. I need to find my pics.

I don't want to reduce all Dissection fans to trendhoppers, but Dissection sells because it's trendy as fuck and appeals to lukewarm metal fans. This is purely anecdotal, but I know a few people who you barely could call metal fans (they find Cannibal too brutal, early Darkthrone too raw and sloppy, etc.), but they love Dissection.
Immolation does merch right. Not only did I buy a shirt off Ross in September when I saw them last but the band every time I’ve seen them has worked their own merchandise table has had shirts from every album even the ones that aren’t that popular I feel like every legacy act in death metal should take a page from Immolation’s book. Even Derketa Last time I saw Sharon at migration fest she ran the table the entire day. Every time I see deceased I get a picture with King, I’m with you on this 100% I saw repulsion and after Scott Carlson was drinking a beer I had the record on me and just said excuse me but You’re the man and this is one of my favorite records ever can you sign the lyric sheet it would mean a lot and he says hey Matt come here, and it’s Matt Olivo who both signed my LP lyric sheet no questions asked aside for my name. Sick. I met Ross at the merch table line when Immolation toured here recently it was unexpected. Ross and Vigna signed my first press of dawn of possession Lp which will stick to me forever. Everyone in that band is chill and their merch table will make you spend money .

Every time I see them live I always bring up how sick I think it is that they print shirts for every album and have like tour shirts also, they even have shirts for the records no one really talks about and I’ve never seen like an Immolation merch person. I bought a Cryptopsy shirt off Lord Worm in 2005 which was unexpected and awesome, We were talking about his English teacher job in Canada.

Same sort of thing has been said about Peste Noire in recent times. Hugely popular and impossible to get merch and albums. Few bootlegs popped up and Famine got pissed.

Vader are definitely very reliable. Fist band i ever saw live. Right after they relesed Revelations. The organizer booked some strippers to perform before Vader hit the stage. Hahah. Quite ugly, but affordable I guess. Do you know Witchmaster? Also from Poland. I haven't heard any bad stuff from them. But Masochistic Devil Worship probably takes the cake. Absolutely ferocious black thrash. No Peace at All - Thrash ör Die! is a demo compilation CD of theirs that I can't remember when and how I bought, but non-stop greatness as well

Personally I'm a Roman Catholic who has always loved and supported death metal, own over 400 vinyl. I enjoy the horror gore side of the genre and not so much the anti religion side but that doesn't bother me. Have to agree with J-Dawg though, I also think Mortification is meh. They ain't no Mortician!!

What’s up J Dawg? I was wondering if there’s ever been an album you didn’t care for at first, but it grew on you over time? For me a perfect example is the latest Deicide album. Didn’t care for the singles they released but after a few spins I ended up loving it.
Never cared for Bolt Thrower. Been writing the same song since IVth Crusade. LOL at guys from the punk scene threatening legal action over bootlegs and fanmade merch. Not surprised that anyone that'd record with Neckbeard Deathcamp is a clown.
Big agree. Super ironic a left leaning band that claims to be all working class and punk would go after underground labels for selling fanclub discs like that.
@@ethane1149 they are the biggest hypocrites, most of them are not even “hard working class “ they are wealthy. I was never a Bolt Thrower fan, I know a lot of bands I like are influenced by them.
