Bolton is determined to get revenge on Grantly, after being tormented on the bus, and the perfect moment arises when he finds Grantly asleep at the checkpoint. Bolton reaches for some animal droppings and plans to put them in Grantly’s open mouth but loses balance and falls. As he separated himself from the group no one knows he’s has an accident and assumes he’s just gone ahead.
