That's really cool. I appreciate these simple ideas with metal shaping that uses common stuff. I could see some techniques being the same to make a trans tunnel and maybe even the dash I would like to make on my project. Lots of time but not a lot of money. I just picked up my first hammer and dolly set. Can't wait to put it to use!

Really great video Ron! I love that you have taken the bomber seat project and used it as a vehicle to show very different fabrication processes while still building clean and beautiful parts. Being able to build a beautiful part with a shop full of specialized tooling is great, but distilling that down to a set of simple steps using common tools and simple processes is magic.

Hi Ron after seeing your production of the seat and by the way you made it look simple , Now for the question Do you think that seat would be a road worthy /usable to install in a daily driver provided cushion and mounting hardware?
@RonCovell
@RonCovell 2 года назад
The edges of the first version of the seat have a little flex to them. If the seat is mounted with sufficient support on the edges and back, it would certainly be fine for a daily driver. I'm close to finishing the video where I show a way to reinforce the sides so simpler mounts could be used.

The joy of seeing perfect craftsmanship. Thank you for sharing your infinite knowledge. I find your teaching skills outstanding. An interesting challenge could be to repeat the experience, but try to make it even simpler (l know, it is super simple already)

I thought about using a rock instead of a hammer, but I decided not to.

Ron, glad you used a countersink, there is nothing more painful than a burr on the backside. Yet again another faultless video. My thanks 👍
