cowden was a tank gunnery range originally,in the early 50,s.

Sure, 1000`s of them, jump on the beach at Mappleton and turn right for the next 5 miles or so they are everywhere. Just make sure you head down when the tide is starting to go out.

Lightnings never dropped air to ground weapons in the UK. Only Mud Mover Lightnings were the Saudi versons

Kevin Mclean Yes you are correct, the Lightning's used to fly the range with 30mm canons back in the 60s. it's in the list by mistake.

seachallenger good film though spent 3 years at Cowden 81-83 :)
