makes me love my finnish blood. the 2000s and late 90s really were a mish mash of a lot of genres and genuinely some of the best artists out. I love the older stuff, but there are some class acts in that period. might be my formative years but there was such a variety, and of high quality. people were sampling, but they were making their own instrumentals too, there was a lot of innovation. really loved it. Even in Australia this was HUGE

Bomfunk MC's was an electro breakbeat / hiphop group from Finland. At that point in time B.O.W. had a quite thick Finnish accent while rapping in English so it was supposed to be "Yeah, straight from the top of my dome, as I rock the microphone"

I have had no problems of understanding different english accent, niot even the Indian ones that do sound quite odd. Scottish accent is way more difficult.

Yeah, something different and fun for a while 😁 Bomfunk MC's is/was a hip hop group from Finland and they made this song in 1999. It actually charted in many European countries, also in UK 🙃

This reached #2 in UK singles chart and one of the biggest hits of 2000 in UK. And as Tapani said. Biggest hit song of 2000 in whole Europe. Sadly their debut album wasnt as big seller as hoped. Sold less than million copies. From their second album only one hit came to Europe "something going on" which was Frida cover. You know, the redhead from Abba :)

is this song just a Europe thing?? Man when i was seven or eight and that gem dropped on MTV and VIVA me and my surroundings were exploding 24/7 on it. My pure childish believes were leading me to think that the whole planet must be jumping and spinning when the tune appeared on any of the then top-music tv channels. I`m shocked to see so many reaction videos with people not recognizing freestyler or hearing it for the first time... Well.. I guess it is safe to say I was childishly naive back then, but who cares. This song is an era. On a side note googling the lyrics enlightens us on the "Gs of the top of my dome" - it is not that :D

Number 2 in the UK singles chart on August 5th, 2000. It hanged on for 17 weeks in the UK Charts. You missed out mate. Also, you should listen in on 90's music again. It doesn't sound quite like this, unless you listened to underground drum'n'bass, even if this isn't the same thing. This sound is definitely early 2000's for me.

First fime I've heard this song was in Winning Eleven PS2. I forgot what is the specific years, but it's played in the main menu. I think it's in between 2004 or 2005 if I'm not mistaking. Thank you for the reaction, and for the nostalgic😁

Reached #2 in the UK, it was a great dance tune back in the day. The lyrics are apparently 'yeah, straight from the top of my dome' but it certainly doesn't sound like 'yeah'. I originally misheard it as 'cheese strings from the top of my dome'

If you like this musical style and want to hear more you should take a listen to ‘the freestylers’ don’t stop album. On a side note the guitar sound is a common delta blues southern slide guitar often played using the glass neck of a bottle or metal metal tube with the strings tuned to form a bar chord negating any fretboard fingering.
