One of the best live performances ever imo. The emotion makes you physically hurt. The way he seems like he’s about to break down when he says “then who the hell was I?” Just...fuck man. I mean hell, the entire song it sounds like he’s gonna cry tbh.
Yes!!!! Love this, live for this. PLEASE keep listening to his discography, it absolutely just gets better and better. And the soul and emotion he shows through his music never goes away
The self-titled album is a perfect place to start if you want to explore a full project. It's beautifully knitted together and not as challenging as parts of his later discography. I *love* all the albums but I'm a fan so this is bound to be the case and I would recc the self-titled as a great place to begin. From there, there are a couple of things that I really think are worth seeing & might make for great reactions! Bon Iver - Heavenly Father (1 to 1) & Woods (Pitchfork) are Justin at his spellbinding best. They're immaculate live performances which really showcase his frankly ludicrous vocal ability.
If you enjoy these really emotional singers you should definitely check out Hozier if you haven't heard a lot of him. You would know the song Take Me to Church that got tons of radio air play. His songwriting is excellent and you feel every work he sings, particularly with live performances. Quite a few reactors have picked up on him lately although he's been around for a few years. Look for his live version of the traditional Irish song The Parting Glass - so so good! Also, I think I've mentioned it a while back, but I highly recommend Amos Lee. Start at the beginning with his self-titled album from 2005. Arms of a Woman was the first single. His voice may sound a bit familiar - one of his songs (Sweet Pea) was used in an AT&T commercial a few years ago. And I think he had a song on a WB network show or something like that. He's a tremendous storyteller with an amazing voice. The bonus with him is I don't think I've ever seen reaction videos to him. I just found that his song Little Light is featured in a new Samsung Galaxy S20 ad. Amos has been in my top 5 favorite singers since I first heard him in early 2006. I've seen him in concert a couple of times and he's as good or better live than on albums. A lot of people sing A Change is Gonna Come to try and be impressive on talent shows, but listen to Amos' cover of it and I guarantee it will move you.
@@natman189 I haven't listened to a lot of Dermot Kennedy, but I like what I've heard. I've binged a bit of Kaleo lately and I definitely dig their sound. They have the BEST scenery in their videos.
I’ve i oh heard that Take Me To Church by him! His voice is beautiful, I will definitely have to dive into his catalog as well! I will take a screenshot of this so I don’t forget!
@@ohef17 What would you say your favourite genres are? Out of curiosity. Mine is all over the place. But more leaning towards alternative, indie and folk (sentimentally Celtic Folk Music). The Irish/Scottish are written in artist recommendation.
I grew up on Rock N Roll from classic rock to punk. Lately I’ve been wanting to explore out of that a bit. Indie has me hooked right now (never really explored this genre) more acoustic stuff, and honestly pop. Use to hate on it, now I’ve learned to enjoy it haha
I know this is one Bon Iver's biggest songs, but I never really connected with it until I heard Birdy's cover of it. I'd be interested to see what you make of it! I tend to focus more on lyrics so if you're more music-focused it may not resonate as much as this version, where the guitar is so amazing.
