@@WadeHarrison I have committed to taking my CK1 on a harder river than I have ever done next Saturday. Feels refreshing to be nervous this far out for a river float.
Wow, that was amazing. I am now officially sold on the EX123. As one who normally prefers a sit-on-top kayak, I am also now sold on the need for a good bilge pump to go with my soon-to-be-purchased EX123. Thanks for the cool vid.
Way so awesome did better than I thought it would wasn’t so sure about the hull design I have a tank of a yak and don’t want another one but I believe you sold me
Nice work. I did some class II on my ss127 this summer. Wasn't very easy, but I never flipped or fell out. They aren't the easiest to turn quick in rapids.
That was awesome I am considering one of these for the more aggressive river camp runs and apparently it will handle a lot more than I will throw at it haha
It’s not really designed for that o know I made it work on the ocoee but was more out of a bet to see if I could. On the surf you will fill this thing up fairly quick and be in trouble trying to get it back to shore but as far a slow moving and easy going stuff it’s totally fine and yeah should always have a pump with you even on lakes
Sick video. Have you had a chance to use this kayak in moderate winds? I have been thinking about getting the ex123. Only thing is I live in ND and it’s always windy. Ill be using it on a huge deep lake. Any input on this yak would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Yes the lack of rocker and long water line makes its a extremely good lake style boat and you can out the flex wings on it and make it even more suitable for winds. Its not good a rivers at all I made it work in this video but really just on a goof I'm going to post a full walkthrough of my Ex123 at some point
Thanks for the quick reply. I would mainly be using it in lakes but would like to do a Missouri River trip a couple times a year. It’s a pretty mellow stretch without rapids. How poor does it perform in rivers and current? Would you reccomend a different kayak for my situation? Sorry for the bombardment of questions, but your the first person with videos on the ex to reply to my comments. Anyways I greatly appreciate your Input.
@@WadeHarrison can I learn to do this in my 30s, or is this something you have to grow up doing? I love rec paddling, but haven't had any formal training. I'm in Knoxville.
REI sales them I have the NRS If you have sit in kayak you should always have one of these www.nrs.com/product/50033.02/nrs-kayak-bilge-pump?gclid=Cj0KCQiA0rSABhDlARIsAJtjfCeIX4yUIQ-5JpGWQ6UWphSbHuZvME0XeS2jpQHdgj7upSVFcsA1cBEaAoSgEALw_wcB
@@WadeHarrison awesome! Thanks for the reply! I have the SS127 already, and just picked up an EX123 last week, so I've been looking for good rigging/accessories for it for the spring. Thanks again!
i was actually considering getting this kayak but i have a question when it fills up with water does it sink or does it float and the second question is is if it flips over can you flip it back over and do a self-rescue or is it just done for
