Already purchased and did the same thing you did. Paddled it before motoring it. Definitely blown away by the tracking and ability to paddle it easy. Was worried about stepping away from crescent but I’m set with the pwr129 now
I really like both the SS127 (non pedal) and the PWR129. For general lake fishing 🎣 I’m figuring the 127 and outfit it with a trolling motor and pwr pole.
Just put $500 down for a March 2024 delivery. I’ve owned an SS107 and currently have an SS127, but can’t wait to migrate to this kayak for exactly all the reasons you pointed out. Great video! Thanks for sharing the content!
Thanks for another great review. Excluding price, how would you compare this Bonafide against the new Titan X models for comfort, stability, fishability and how configurable they are? I really like the Titan X but this Bonafide looks pretty impressive. Keep up the great work!!
I love the comfort of the Titan X with the swivel seat and NO kayak is as stable as the Titan X. If I was buying a kayak with the sole purpose of motorizing, I would go PWR. If I wanted to motorize AND possibly still enjoy pedal drive without motor sometimes, I would go Titan X. Also keep in mind that the PWR129 has a higher weight cap than the Titan X according to Bonafides specs.
@@thebeardedpaddler i’d love to see a comparison or a head to head for these 2. 35in isn’t even as wide as my hobie lynx. I don’t need the pedal drive but because it’s going to be rigged with batteries and motors, and stand fishing, i would want the widest most stable x and i doubt the PWR is more stable than the titan.
@@jwalker497 the Titan X is the most stable kayak I've ever been in. I love the customization of the PWR129 and the Titan X. If I was going to motor I would go with PWR129. If stability is the most important thing, go with the Titan X 12.5 and you will love it
I thought both were rated at 500lb capacity? I’ve had the Titan X on the top of my list as a heavier guy 5’10” 300lbs, but the cost is what holds me up. I currently paddle in an ascend H12 and wanted to get to a pedal platform due to some shoulder issues. I have a motor and would motor the next one but really only to get to places not while fishing. With this price point, even without the pedal feature, which I think Bonafide missed the mark on with this model, I’m now seriously contemplating this PWR129. The customization of both platforms are a wash, both are excellent it appears as far as customization with the panels. Don’t really comes down to if I want another paddle or if I want the extra cost of the pedal. I fish mostly lakes and the California Delta so not much river fishing for me. Great review! Thanks!
Haven’t gotten into the sport yet but I’m impressed with your review of the PWR129. The price point is also more inline with what I prefer to spend. Question, what will I need to transport this kayak? Thanks
Slightly better stability on the PWR129 but the movement through the water is a bit better. You won't sacrifice much by having a SS127. I'm more looking forward to the river performance
All of them will work. I like Newport because you can use any battery for it. I love motorguide gps if you want the motor on the bow and have spot lock
Are you going to test it with both motors (back and front)? Where is a video from Bonafide/Fluke with a stern motor?! Looks like they never had any testing with it.
How do you this kayak would do for the flats amd salt marsh of Texas with the occasional deeper water bay/offshore fishing? Ive been looking at the Bonafide lineup like the SKF, SS, PWR. Considering they all can be powered what do you think would suit me best?
Awesome video as expected. I fish rivers and lakes and want to go offshore. I fish with poles and spearfish. I also hunt duck and deer. Unlimited or PWR129??
The Unlimited is a better outdoors enthusiast kayak. They even sell their own duck blind for that kayak. PWR129 is better for strictly fishing for me at least. Both great options
Have you had the chance to use this some more going down rivers? This is on my short list for a duck hunting kayak since it checks most of my boxes, but I'm really curious how it handles river situations.
what sucks is i was about to buy the unlimited but they didn't have the color i wanted in stock . then this comes out. but the unlimited swivel seat and open deck sill may be what i need. fishing the sound and creeks big reds are not fun getting in cluttered floor space. it would be nice to have a place to try each out. but the pwr129 is attractive but no swivel seat nor the ability to move your cg with the seat. but the price is right , how does it work with a drift sock?? open sound the wind can be a issue . few more rnds of kemo and i have a decision to make. gear pod , front storage is a plus for the same money , other than that i have everything already to rig a yak. who will make the perfect yak lol no one. but i can drive to bonifide and pick up a yak . i was quoted 350 shipping to get a camo unlimited and have 2 dealers within 40 miles guess they just want to sell what they have on hand. there not good dealers imo. neither offered to order it for me. so there loss of sale
Got one sitting here lol. I think you may really like the Unlimited for what you need out of it. I like the open deck space better for certain applications and the customer service with Nucanoe is top notch
Whats your unbiased opinion on stability vs Unlimited while standing and fishing? I know it’s 6” less wide vs Unlimited. I own the Unlimited and I enjoy it but perceived versatility of pwr129 without having to buy all the add ons is interesting.
It's about the same honestly. The PWR does paddle a little better (to me) than the Unlimited. I would be very interested to see a speed test in a PWR since I Owned an Unlimited with an Xi3 in the past. I suspect the PWR may be faster
It's a rough ask for an SS127. it's designed for calm flat water. You can do it, but man you will be paddling a lot to move it. Much better options out there for rivers than the SS127 even in Bonafides lineup
Bonafide doesn't sell their own motor but a majority of motors use the same 4 bolt mounting pattern. Torquedo and Newport are the big players in that market. If you are looking at a motor that does not then all you would need to do is get a mounting plate that would adapt to it is all. Thanks for watching!
It's about the same on primary stability. The secondary is where people don't like on the Pro Anglers. The secondary stability is strong on every Bonafide I feel.
I’ve had a Pro Angler for about 2 years and fished offshore, 3 ft rollers, etc. it’s extremely stable so if the PWR is close to that then I’m impressed.
@@BamaBassCatcher99 Nothing wrong with the Pro Angler stability with my experience either. Its built more for the Primary stability as the Bonafide is built more for Secondary. They are both VERY stable, just feel slightly different.
For sure on my short list! After being in the water if you motorized I would you choose bow or stern? I know it can accommodate both but my wallet won’t… thanks!
Thank you! Shoalie is more comparable to the RVR119 in my opinion. This is more of a lake kayak that may also be adequate on rivers. This kayak's home is designed for the lake for sure. I have a Shoalie ready to review now though!
