Good Ole Claude Akins. Character actor who nearly always played the heavy, but had the reputation as one of the nicest and easy-going actors in Hollywood.
Man I love Ben he was the only father I had growing up,an just so protective an smooth it will never be another Ben Cartwright they need to make a remake modern Bonanza it still should be a western of 1800s but just modern like Django and Good Lord Bird
Claude Adkins was a phenomenal actor. The Ezekiel character was meant to be very literal, obsessive, and mad. Not just any actor could pull that off like CA did here.
I remember back in the 1990's when guys were jealous if they caught you talking to their wives. Times are a lot worse now; Guys get jealous if they catch you talking to their dog.
Commenters please calm down about this being a """bomb""" episode==just be content with the fact that the heros HATS NEVER POP OFF when fighting*falling off thier horses*jumping in the rivers*!!!!
Thank God he does, what of it...you better hope you will too when you get old. His friends are miles away. Let's only hope when you need friends they will be close by. Let's hope you will be as good a friend he has been on this show.
theres an ep of gunsmoke with claud akins , hes a total schzo -nut who after a konk on the head is mr nice guy and becomes kittys "boyfriend" but then his true psycho nature comes out and matt hasta blow his head off
I enjoy watching Bonanza. How much better the show would have been if the Cartwright men would have married and children. According to the movie Bonanza Second Generation they did but the viewers never got to actually see it.
Aww. Ben was a great friend 2 her, when u care 4 someone u want them happy. Her husband get those ideals in his head 4rm his help. Wish Ben could marry her.
She should’ve stayed with Ben and his family she would’ve had a real man plus financial security but she didn’t care about any money she was a real woman that’s why Ben was so attracted to her.
We all are different which makes up a gr8 world if the negativity were not to knock others for their thoughtfulness. I liked Dan Blocker, Hoss. So you see, we are fortunate to have those we like. im waiting to see where they got rid of Pernell Roberts and how.
Yes, I was thinking the same thing. This episode is among the weaker ones. Respetfully, as for the man, Ben, he exists for the show. Humans, outside the parameters of the show, are as they are, for better, or worse.
🙋♀️ So i know i just said i preferred Claude as a “good guy” 😬 _BUT_ he sure did do a *GREAT JOB* 😉 playing 🎭 a _CREEPY DUDE_ 🥴 didn’t he? 🤷♀️ Eww! 😝💦 Still love 💕 him though! 🥰😘
Very good, but the ending sucked. In reality, she wouldn't have left. They would have married and started a happy life together, on the Ponderosa. BUT, you can blame _Hollywood_ for wanting to keep him single. This way, they don't have to get out of their script-writing comfort zone...
@@brendanforester4601 Actually, it's standard practice with TV programs. They don't want any drastic changes in the family dynamics, or the lack thereof.
@@ladybird127 Actually, the reason he left is because he felt that the entire series was beneath his greater abilities. This unhappy perspective also affected the relationships with nearly everyone there, including his co-actors. Of course, as we all know, he later went on to have his own series "Trapper John,. M.D." www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/bonanza-adam-cartwright-left-because-the-actor-hated-him.html/
Joyce: i saw him bending over me with a carving knife!” 🔪 Ben: Joyce, surely you must know that Tom meant no harm!” 🙆🏼♀️ OMGOSH WTF are you _talking about_ Ben?! 🤷♀️ Sure sounded *”harmful”* 😱 to me! Should be telling Joyce “you’re NEVER going back to live with that creep again! He may *KILL YOU* next time! 😤🔪 Ben’s guilt is clouding ☁️ his judgement i think? 🤦🏼♀️
Laurie Davis I must say my reaction was the same when Ben said that..... Bonanza's great, but it's always a bit contrived. They had to make Tom seem like a really good person who'd just been embittered by bad luck. My guess is he was always a creep.
That's what cowboys were about; gallop, shoot, fist fighting and herding cattle. The Cartwrights were a special breed though. They seems to constantly fall in love with almost every skirt too. Still... Adam is my man.
🙄 Ok, @1:35 did Joyce almost call Ben “Adam” 🤭 or did she say “oh *uh* Ben ...”? 🤔 i’ve listened over and over but 🤷♀️! Help me decide?! 🙆🏼♀️ TY!! 🥰😘
i am not too crazy about this episode. first, the character of ezekiel is not really believable. nor is his ability to manipulate mr. edwards to that degree. and you cant trade another person, so that should have been said immediately. i also did not like the fact that ben went after a married woman. and that adam was okay with it. just not a well written script
@Willie Gordon you couldnt sell someone, unless they were already a slave. i dont think there were any white slaves in the usa. and in the episode about the civil war, it was mentioned that nevada was not yet a state, just a territory.
Yep you see I'm 63 years old I love the cartwrights and they've lived a Christian perfect life they had kill back in those days I guess you had to but still I live on the 85 Acres Ranch all horses and I still work hard Cowboy fucking up I love Bonanza frying up some rays with him when I was just a tyke
I assume it has something to do with licensing laws. I could be wrong but it seems if you change something from the original then it's technically not "pirating." Responses from more knowledgeable viewers?
*SOLO ONE, ALL OF THE ORIGINAL THEME MUSIC APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN CHANGED, AS I MAKE THAT PUBLIC COMMENT ALONG WITH THE TIME-STAMP OF THE FAKE THEME SONGS ON ALL THE SERIES ONE AND SERIES TWO MOVIES THAT I´VE SEEN SO FAR. **2:35*
EXACTLY THAT! I was wondering why they even wanted to experiment with the theme song. Seriously??? That doesn't even sound like BONANZA! It didn't need "fixin." I stopped watching after Adam left. I couldn't really get used to Candy. Still one of my all time favorite Westerns.
