Every child needs a grandma like Joanne. She finds joy in playing with her grandchildren. I understand her urgent feeling about spending time with loved ones. Tomorrow is not promised as she personally knows. She lost her husband at 28 years old. I loved that she picked games they all could participate in. I can't believe Max put on Crystal's jacket. That was so amusing watching him try to get it off.🤣🤣 Tristan was really struggling to pull it off 🤣🤣. It was a laugh I didn't know I needed. Thank you 😊

Hi Joanne, I can relate so well to this. I was widowed at 34 when I was expecting my son, I already had three daughters. Ben never got to know his wonderful dad, then I remarried when I was 42 and sadly my husband died soon after from a very aggressive and incurable cancer. My children are now in their 30’s and 40’s and I have 7 beautiful grandchildren. Like you however, I often say that I miss the little people my children once were. Time is such a gift. I was widowed when I was only 26. My youngest was not even 1 and my oldest was only 8. The kids don’t have memories of their dad. The older ones very few. My youngest cries wishing she had memories. It’s so very sad. I wish things could’ve been different bc I had to work so much to make a way for us being that I was the only one. That’s why anytime I comment I tell people don’t rush it don’t wish the kids to be older time flies by just way too fast!!!!!

I needed to hear that from Grandma. Mom of 4 and the last couple of nights my oldest daughter has come down asking me to play a game at 9pm. Ill be honest, that's my time to wind down and relax before starting all over again the next day. But thanks to you, tonight I'm going to wait until bed time and surprise her with a game night. We usually stick to the same sides, unless one side is easier to get to the bathroom in the dark since I get up to use it during the night. I love when Grandma is in charge! They always have so much fun and share so much love and respect for one another. The stories she shares with us from when her own kids were growing up are precious. It sounds like she was a great mom, which couldn't have been easy caring for all of her kids by herself.

I love how Grandma was telling about memories with Mark and Crystal. We homeschooled and when our son was maybe 7 or 8 I would give him a spelling word and if he spelled it correctly he got to fly a styrofoam or paper airplane from one end of the living room to the other. Then he would run to pick it up and go on to the next word. It kept him interested. Good memories!

The saying that you can’t change the past but can only make a happy positive future means so much. Unfortunately, it’s even hard for most adults to believe though. I know I’m almost 31 and I even struggle to believe that some days. Eevie, you’re such a beautiful young lady, I know your past may not have been positive or have gave you happy memories to hold onto, but I know for sure your mom and dad will give you plenty to remember for years to come 🧡

Evie is such a sweet girl. She is so expressive, but her facial gestures tell you everything and sometimes she brings tears to my eyes. She can become very sad at any moment. I really love your (grand)ma, she is so sweet. I didnt know she lost her husband so early, thats really sad. When i was 8 i lost my dad, my parents where divorsed, but still she could feel our pain and helped us as good as she could. mothers are the best gift we ever received, and i think its really sweet that your family share that feeling with ppl/kids that need that more than anyone. you guys are doing good deeds and you should be proud of what you do, I really respect you. Joanne, I have such a big smile on my face. You brought back such happy memories of many evenings with my Mom & Dad, 3 brothers and me sitting around the kitchen table playing games. My sisters and I were 9, 8, 4 and 2 when our mom died. Fortunately, they did get a family picture in shortly before she passed from leukemia. I am so incredibly grateful for that picture because it's the only one we have. She was sick for 1 year, and they were convinced she was going to make it. I totally get how precious that picture is Crystal. I can't imagine how difficult that time was for my Dad. Thanks for sharing. ❤

I used to play hopscotch with my grandma when it was nice outside. My grandma raised me and I lost her 15 years ago. She would put a quarter on the ground and we would try to hit it with a red ball. My grandma was everything to me and I miss her 😢 thank you for making me remember all the things my grandma did for me. I am an only child so grandma and grandpa were my parents. Clue master detective was our favorite board game

When we played spoons growing up, even if you didn’t have a 4 of a kind, once one person grabs a spoon, the whole group grabs for a spoon. The thing is, is that there’s one less spoon (just like musical chairs… or musical bubble wrap lol) and then that person is out and they take one spoon away until there is a winner!

I mean I know Spoons is probably meant to be good fun, but this is the type of game my family will violently play at Christmas leading to (innocent) fights, screaming matches, accusations of cheating, someone somehow getting cut by a spoon?!?, and the game not ending until 3am. I love playing spoons! What a fun grandma!! 😊 We played it where after the 1st person grabs a spoon, anyone can grab a spoon! Last one not to get a spoon is out. Repeat game. 🎉

Grandma,Shelly looks alot like you when you were younger. My question is do you get to spend extra time with Shelly's kids? I lost my dad when i was 2. Je was killed by a train hitting into his semi. Much love to you all.
