Bondrewd the Novel's Best Moments from Made in Abyss Movie 3: Dawn of the Deep Soul Including Reg vs. Bondrewd Dark Reg vs. Bondrewd Bondrewd Death/Defeat メイドインアビス ボンドルド メイドインアビス 深き魂の黎明
The most screwed up thing about all of this is despite having doomed thousands of children to the abyss' curse, Bondrewd somehow remembers ever single one of their names as soon as he sees them.
Their life served a greater purpose rather than being street urchins who might travel down the path of thieving just to survive. At least this way they have a place to exist without the cruel realty of living on the surface dogging them constantly.
@@arcanaz6583 I wrote that while intentionally sounding like a sociopath. What the people who liked it thought, I don't care. I don't particularly have that mindset, but I can see how people could think that
Also, in his own sick and twisted way, he helped Riko, Reg, and Nanachi got a white whistle to proceed to the sixth layer and helped Prushka to travel with them.
@@MrSadflkja More than a while, maybe even a year or two, Reg's incinerator probly destroyed alot of Relics in his base and I'm pretty sure Bonedad would take a break from making elevators fall. Edit: I meant a year or two in the 5th layer which would result in 3-6 years (maybe even more) on the surface
The true horror of Bondrewd is not the things he has done, but that in order to discover the truths of the abyss as he has, *you have to be willing to go as far as he has, if not further.* The Abyss does not surrender its secrets freely, and if you seek the truth, there will always be a price to pay.
@@entity.kirova3663 there's a theory that Srajo is the main villain, and that Wakuza will be a temporary companion to the group. he would guide them through the 7th layer, before reaching a point where he wants them to proceed alone. they defend further, and meet Srajo, who turns out to be even more of a threat than Faputa. and this would be Riko's arc, as Nanachi got Ido Front, and Reg has Ilblu, so maybe Riko could have her confrontation with Srajo as a way to meet Lyza?
The white whistles we've met so far seem very... inhuman. Ozen and Bondrewd both seem to have left their humanity behind in their pursuit of the secrets of the Abyss, although it seems Ozen still genuinely cares for her old apprentice's daughter and Bondrewd seems to care for all those he sacrificed in his own twisted way.
What's also extra tragic is seeing where he got so many orphans to experiment on (and showing that they would probably be on the brink of death on the surface anyways). Makes me wonder what's going on at the surface away from the Abyss, where it seems to imply that some of the places away from Orth are pretty fucked-up...
@@Scarshadow666 I mean, plenty of places on Earth have been pretty fucked and still are to this day. Despite all the shit that exists today, we still are living in what is comparatively the most peaceful period in human history right this very moment.
@@baitposter That is a good point! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And it does still make me curious about the world-building in places outside of Orth and the Abyss. The winter-y abandoned factory place that Nanachi originally came from looks like it'd have some interesting history to it.
Crazy thing is, in the end he ended up helping everyone fulfill their dreams. Riko, reg and Nanachi got their white whistle and Prushka was able to travel with them in their journey.
I DON´T THINK THIS MANNER . I THINK HE PERMIT ESCAPE TO BE ABLE TO STUDY MORE . IN THE END, THE THREE RESULTED IN WINNING.BOWNDED NOT YET READY FOR THE ABYSS. CONGRATULATIONS FROM BRAZIL
If you didnt know... THe cartridge are made of children souls... Whenever you climb back in the Abyss you get cursed.. And guess who's gonna get cursed from going up.. Hint: its not Bondrewd
@@Terraqueo22 not children's souls. But their brains and essential organs that keep them alive. They are injected with adrenaline to keep them alive for as long as possible.
Bondrewd is probably my favourite villian... He understands the suffering that he causes and continues anyway, but his motives go beyond the mere pursuit of knowledge. The way he marvels at Reg and Nanachi's abilities and strategies, how he remembers every child's name not out of pity but out of appreciation for their contribution, the way he accepts his defeat... Bondrewd loves and appreciates everything that life has to offer, all of its joys and trials, all of its curses and its blessings... Every aspect of life is beautiful to him, all of its magnificence and cruelty, and it is an honour to him to be a part of it.
@@nintendoman12111 Instead of losing his humanity, he transcended it. Doesn't show resentment or hate towards those who had wronged him, but appreciates them with gratitude.
@@fadlik698 bondrewd is one hell of a vilain alright, he is the embodiment of the abyss, he lost his hummanity to surpass the 6th layer but he do love prushka, in a fucked up way
What caught my attention was that he actually did show love, he only showed it in the most inhumane way possible from our perspective, but it was genuine. I can see why they call him Bondrewd the Novel, such a fitting name.
@@zZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZza i know it was cruel but she was destined to become like this, i haven't watch the manga but remember back before this movie there was reincarnation possibility for mitty idk what would happen if this was posted on season 2.
Don't know what's worse, the fact that he turned children into slimes (immortal slimes, even!) or the fact that he never forget even one of them. Most mad scientist (Japanese squad 731, for example) start to dehumanise their victims, threating them as just objects, but he never did that. It's like he has zero compassion and infinite compassion at the same time.
I'm willing to bet that Zoaholic's parasitic nature pretty much warped his perception and understanding of empathy beyond human recognition, because I couldn't see how else he could still care for his children and remember them without coming off as a sociopath, which he doesn't qualify as despite his actions. The guilt should have crushed him otherwise.
@@basicaccount330 that's literally what happened. he became a form of quasi-hollow, kind of like Wazukyan, Belafu, or Faputa. they were never really effected by the curse of the abyss, but still lost their humanity.
As with many things, too much of a thing can completely change the way you perceive the effects of that thing, compared to others. Someone who has too much Mercy, may be considered cruel to those less merciful, because they now perceive living to be suffering and death to be a mercy, therefore, they must end all life. Technically... they are still merciful, but their perception is ultimately skewed. Ultimately... he is compassionate. Everything in his mind, is necessary. To save all of Humanity. Every single one sacrificed for that sake, himself included, is worth every life saved in the future. Even if we will always see his actions as wholly cruel and torturous.
I believe he felt empathy towards them, otherwise, he wouldn’t have cared for them, fed them, played with them, taught them, got them pets, gave them names that he still remembers by heart, however his goal of achieving the blesses of the abyss to overcome the upcoming 2000 years is much more important in comparison, it’s like a game of chess you can sacrifice the queen of it meant you would get checkmate the following move.
I cried when she imagined herself joining the other three with her papa all going together TwT the image looks so sweet!!!! BUT IT WAS JUST A WISH SHE WISHES FOR
In the end, she did get what she wished for, in some way: - Reg, Riko, Nanachi, and Meinya are physically going on an adventure. - Prushka is shown to still have some form of sentience, albeit extremely limited, as she lives on as Riko’s white whistle. - Bondaddy is still watching everything the crew does through Nanachi’s eyes. Effectivly being a part of the adventure team.
@@headphones2308 He also can go to the lower levels by sacrificing an Umbra Hand. If the Umbra Hand died his consciousness would just return to the Zoaholic so he might actually join them at one point.
I love Bondrewd as a spin on the "mad scientist" villain trope. He's not mad; there's no moment where he has an insane outburst, he's quite emotionally flatlined. His greatest outburst is when Nanachi throws herself into harm's way. He's not overtly cruel without necessity, he genuinely loves children. He retains the memory of all the children's names and their dreams. He helps Riko, Reg, and Nanachi and it's because of him they can descend further into the Abyss. It's just that the world of the Abyss is THAT dangerous, and THAT horrifying, that it requires inhuman level of sacrifice to unlock its secrets. The ends justify the means for progress.
I'd say that his insanity is what enables him to commit his horrible acts without hesitation. Any normal person would not do what Bondrewd did even if they believed it was for the greater good. Bondrewd's insanity enables him to brutally murder children while still maintaining his personality.
actually in the manga bondrewds teaser appearance showed a tail, which kinda hinted that its either not him, or hes hiding when he introduced himself to them
Jordan Lobo I don't remember if his tail is visible in the last episode of season one, but at the end of the second recap movie there's a scene at the end that introduces Prushka and clearly shows Bondrewd with a tail.
I saw bondrewd get killed by reg and I thought; “no. This is way too easy.” The second I finished that thought, the helmet was ripped off and bondrewd was reborn. My jaw dropped so hard
i like how he just does not hold grudges like, at all, doesnt matter how many times they try to kill him, doesnt matter how much of his progress they trample on, he just accepts it and moves on, even when they destroyed his blessed body that would allow him to freely traverse the abyss without worrying about the curse, a project that took over a fucking decade and quite literally required him to sacrifice his daughter that he loved(in a twisted way), he just wishes them goodluck after all is done and quietly watches them embark on their journey
Nanachi mentioned he can sees what she sees, so their journey would bring valuable information to him anyway. He and his umbrahands went to 6th layer to trade with hollow village after they know how to use the cartridges to absorb the curse.
@@namvo3013 if i remenber correctly, nanachi managed to make it so bondrewd can only hear them, not see through her eyes, although that might have not been in the movie, i dont remenber, and him going to the hollow village has nothing to do with anything as it was way before the events shown in the movie and having a body imune to the curse is much more valuable anyways than the cartridges
@@tadayoshi1434 Nanachi mutated and she worked for Bondrew for a while (making cartridge like an umbrahand, implying she was one of them, thus a potential body for Bondrew) before she ran with Mitty to the 3rd layer. Bondrew brought Mitty to the hollow village so that event happened after Nanachi mutated. Nanachi knows nothing about this so Bondrew's words about Nanachi is a valuable partner was a lie.
@@nguyenduykhanh2364 I remember somebody saying Bondrewd wasn't even using his best fighting body nor his most powerful relics so I'm pretty sure he let them go.
Nothing makes you realize what Bondrewd wanted in the end except for the scene in which he is dying. He, for all intents and purposes, was a father to the 4 children who went to the 6th layer. He prepared them, and sent them out the seek their own destinies after scarring and hardening them for the future. He really did love them, and was happy to see them surpass him and move on.
That's especially shown off when Nanachi gloats over his dying husk, and he just responds mostly with a "I hope you have a great adventure." Most villains would show a great deal of malice and hate for being killed off like that by children no less, but he doesn't. Because his love is genuine.
He finally realized that the actual blessing he received from the Abyss was not him transforming into a furry like Nanachi before he died but instead Nanachi herself. The Abyss always seems to want something before you explore it like how you can enter but feel sick when you leave or how you need someone's life to make a White Whistle. Bondrewd had to give up his aspirations of uncovering the Abyss to Nanachi and the gang because despite how many times he tried, Nanachi is the only successful Narehate he had.
The thing about bondrewd is that everything that makes the abyss horrible for everyone else is exactly what makes it a blast for him. He is the only one having fun in this whole damned anime.
you're wrong. Bondrewd is the only one who is honest with himself and immoral at one hundred percent. The others (except 1 or 2) are still moral to a degree. That's does not mean that he's having fun or even that he's the only one having fun. The MC is literally smiling, laughing & playing the whole "show"
Bondrewd’s VA always does a villain justice, fucking amazing at playing the bad guy, his most famous roles are in this and as Yoshikage Kira (Antagonist of JJBA Diamond is Unbreakable) and he smashes both of them. Fucking huge props.
It broke my heart the first time but looking at it now is just hilarious because image Reg Riko Nanachi and Prushka all together on an adventure with Bondrewd just hanging out with them
Call me crazy but i prefer bondrewd over Shou Tucker, both of them did sick things, sure Bondwerd is more twisted than Shou Tucker, but shou tucker only did it to save his own ass, Bondwerd reasons for his experiments are the prime definition of "beyond our understanding"
Bondrewd fascinates me. He's definitely a villain, but touches like how he sacrificed _himself_ to be the White Whistle thanks to his body surfing ability and seemingly only uses others as test subjects out of what he sees as necessity, all while remembering their names and seemingly genuinely caring about them despite what he does, even his sheer affection and respect for Nanachi. I saw somebody once say that his villainous flaw is ultimately that he can't comprehend that not everyone is as strong and self-sacrificing as he is.
I think Bondrewd is better than Shou because he’s doing it for the benefit of humanity. Shou Tucker on the other hand, is doing it to save his own backside.
@@acrazyweeb7225 Yup true, but in terms of Cruelness and insanity Bondrewd takes the Cake Just hope that Bondrewd Delivers his promise to Save humanity in the next 2000 years
Bondrewd help reg regain his memories, make white whistle for riko, fulfilled prushka dream to go on a adventure with riko and let them through the final dive, what a kind character nothing wrong with him
It is *scientifically* proven that every Bondrewd moment is a best moment. In fact, if you give me some lolis to turn into ink for printer cartridges, I can probably use them to SCIENTIFICALLY prove that every best moment is a Bondrewd moment, and, more specifically, that every Bondrewd moment is SUBARASHIIII! *Rumble of scientific triumph playing in the background*
@@Eviligniter Yes, but if you have scientific knowledge and some children you can make them yourself to save money, for scientific progress of course because someone dedicated to scientific triumph needs a functional printer
this show is so underrated. i dont see a lot of people talk about this show. its so creative. the creatures, the mystery of the abyss and the story. 10/10
Yeah, but that imagination is somewhat the reason why it doesn't get that much talk as the show doesn't self sensor and allows ideas to grow to the full disturbing extreme, which makes it hard to talk to normies and the like about.
It is hard to go in story where it starts getting more disturbing. If I wasn't interested in dark story and human nature, I wouldn't go past the first brutal part where Riko had to cut her arm off to continue her adventure.
Watched the movie once, thought it was great .. Watched it again and I think it's a masterpiece now. Absolutely love this arc, everything was top notch in the movie.
That is just one of his Umbra Hands faces. After the Umbra Hands put on the Original helmet linked to the Zoaholic, his body and (I assume) his face also changing form to the original Bondrewd figure. You can see in the last scene where his helmet already had a crack on the eye, his actual face look younger than this Umbra Hand guy.
I aspire to enjoy my life as much as Bondrewd enjoys every single moment of his. Even when he's getting his ass kicked or being chewed out for being a scumbag, he still keeps a positive attitude.
See, Bondrewd finds value in everything. From a dying kid with no hope for a future, to his battle body being destroyed with good teamwork. That is why he can appreciate everything in life, because he finds a purpose for everything. In his perspective: his pain has a greater purpose, his children's pain have a greater purpose, and etc. Which is to be honest with you, quite literally insane. No normal human can do that. Its why only Bondrewd can do the things that Bondrewd can do.
There really is something special about made in abyss,as horrifying as the concepts, monsters and curses the series has in it with children seeming to be the main target for said horrors I just can’t help but want to see Riko And Reg go on there journey and make it to the bottom
i like the fact that he remember the name and dreams of those childrens that he turned into blobs, is not like he think of those orphans as disposable stuff but people , he knew who he was cursing, he knew who he was turning into cartriges. this is a monster
