Here is a brief overview of the instruments used for a Summer's technique sinus augmentation. www.allthingsdentistry.com ~-~~-~~~-~~-~ Please watch: "" • Root Canal and Restor... ~-~~-~~~-~~-~
I have been placing dental implants, and doing socket lifts since 1984. And that little "dip" in the instrument (0:29) is not really for placing bone, but actually to make a sharp cutting edge. That way, as it is tapped upwards in the bone, it will cut the walls of the bone, and the instrument will press this cut bone upwards, and lift the Schneiderian membrane. Doctor George Whitehead
This method is brutal. I had it done a week ago and it was like receiving a football ball in my face several times… I had terrible headache one week straight after the procedure.
Ditto. I just had two upper rear molars done a week ago. I wasn't warned about any fricking hammering! I just remember my doctor telling the assistant "a little harder" and "again, again, again". My whole skull was vibrating. That night and the next day was torture. Even with the acetaminophen and ibuprofen he prescribed. After the procedure he kept saying that my bone was really dense, but I didn't understand why. Now I know they drill down short of piercing the sinus membrane and hammer through the remaining bone. I had to sleep in my recliner that night.
@@darkpassenger65 I had it done 9 days ago. I wasn’t warned either. Worst experience and feeling. I don’t trust that dentist anymore. They made it seem like it would be a tiny little tap-tap. It was more like Bang BANG into my brain 😩
