My dear Mother We arrived this Morning at Marseille : as I told you our departure did not delay ; We Said Goodbuy to ??? Tursday at 12 hrs 45 and arrived st Marseille Friday at 7 hrs 15. IT was a good trip We had a spécial train ( heated train ) We ate some Américain Food that was the Most Welcome for us ( ham,puding, chocolat,Milk,bread ects.) Hi Dave, the Bonnet Family of Herbert & Anna & their Daughter turned from a Loving Family to such Sadness in their Mansion!! You saw a hoof from a Deer`s foot when you first entered! I loved the Grandfather Clock, but vandalism took the face of it! When entering the basement so much to see & then more stairs to a Hidden tunnel..a Bunker used when War Time!! Part of the basement flooded, but as you walked there, 8.35 you could hear a animal making a noise like a kitten, meowing, or someone said a rat... 9.00 then when walking away something went & jumped into the water! Now entering the dining room, where in the picture matched the chair where Anna sat! Moving to where the TV was in Living Room 12.10 so much Vandalism of everything thrown on the floor, No Respect!! The Chair & Couch the material on it was Crushed Velvet! Upstairs: More Vandalism everywhere, how terrible!! I know even if Herbert was hurt with feelings he would not throw things down on the floor! 23.55 When seeing the wallpaper with that fuzzy feeling , it`s called Flock-Velvet Wallpaper, that came out 70`s & 80`s! The Dried Sticks on the table, was Mexican Tomatillo ( Green tomatoes in a skin on a plant) I have had those in my yard! Attic: was Huge so much living space & of course more Vandalism! If I was a Neighbor there, I would cut down the weeds & cut the grass to keep the Mansion & Neighborhood free of wild animals, snakes & etc!! 😢 this was such a Beautiful love story, but also so sad. When they found him and her picture was on the floor, so you know he was holding it, it was the last Beautiful thing he saw, before he passed. This is still a beautiful home, I really hope someone can save it and bring it back to life.. right now it just looks so sad. I know they wanted children so hopefully a family can come in with children and bring joy into this home. People really need to stop doing just nothing and letting these beautiful homes rot.

Love these older abandoned homes, so much history to unravel on its former owners! So, many antiques that could have been saved! The basements definitely looks like an old air raid storage... It was once a craze that storm shelters were needed, not so much now! Such a sad story to tell, especially to lose a child, then his wife! 🌹

what a great explore. im surprised by how much decay has happened in just around 15 years. You can imagine what the house was like (in its tidy state) as you walk around and show us. Mind you... that tunnel in the basement (now filling up with water) was creepy. I rekon that loud noise we heard from there, was a rat falling off a ledge into the water, tks for another great explore

That basement was 💯 creepy and sounded like something of not this world was crawling around in there that and along with the squeaking of the rats and droplets of water sounded like a scary video game no wonder you scrambled 😂

This is such a happy and yet sad story how he first lost his child and than his wife. The dress hanging in the bedroom, shoes at the end of the bed, and her purse sitting on a table or chest, looks like he didn't have the heart to pick them up or put them away. The attic was awesome I wish I had an attic like that or one that size, and that basement was definitely haunted or something not human but huge was living down there. You were smart to get out of there and I would have done the same don't feel bad about that. I am amazed at how dry the ground floor rooms are; very little evidence of mold on books etc. yet so much water in the basement. Those underground foundations looked very old and is if tunnels or cellars where there for centuries, and then with WW2 era bunkers built into them later on. I thought this place looked like it could be saved without a huge amount or structural work.
