As an American, I tend to ask myself a lot these days, what "make America, great again" means. When was America great? Was it when Christopher Columbus the colonist arrived on the shores of what is now known as America and the beginning of the holocaust against indigenous people? As a nearly 50% indigenous person, my ancestral memory continues to feel this pain. Was America great when lynchings were common? Was it great when JFK, MLK, and RFK were assassinated? We are nothing if not a work in progress. We have taken steps backward in the last several years. We must educate our children about the real history of America in order to bring real change.

One isn’t a charity that directly distributes funds to the poor. That has never been its purpose. One is like a lobbyist, pushing for governments and politicians to make and support policies and campaigns to increase international aid and combat poverty and disease. Just because you don’t understand that, doesn’t mean they’re bad. You need to research better and try reading whole articles instead of just the titles.

I am kind of tired about hearing how great is America. I guess it is as great as any other part of the world. We all want freedom, but at the same time we all keep making the same mistakes. From where I Iive, America looks really different, Bono. It starts wars, it lies, there is racism, guns, a huge gap between the rich and the poor...Freedom? The country was born out of stealing the native's food and land. America is a song? To me it sounds more like a slogan. When north Americans come to Spain, they don't want to leave. Bono and U2 certainly forgot how 'passionate' they were about freedoms, justice and human rights in the last 2 years when millions of westerners were being forced into poverty by governments.
How exactly did they forget anything? They are musicians who try to inspire and use their influence to encourage change. Bono has been pretty consistent in his beliefs and hasn't pulled any punches. The rest is up to the people who want change to do what they can to achieve it in a democratic and sustainable way.
