As a dissenting voice, I've unfortunately found the releases so far for Fragments to be a bit below par, on the whole. Otomo is the standout of the new tracks, in my opinion, and Tides has really grown on me since its release. Rosewood, Shadows and sadly From You, though, just don't really have that Bonobo magic that usually captures my ear. I actually really rate Migration, which I feel was his most polarising album among the long-time listeners. I also have a lot of time for some of the more electronic-leaning singles in the past few years, the likes of Linked and Heartbreak. I know there's a sub-group of his fans who just want woodwind and percussion instrumentals - I'm not one of them. Sadly, though, the new stuff doesn't seem to be hitting the spot yet. Just one man's opinion, though, and I'm still hyped for the new album. Bonobo is still one of my favourite artists (and has been my #1 artist on Spotify for 3 consecutive years now) and I'll never stop being a fan!

Do you mean this is deterioration? I beg to differ. Yes, I do miss his Animal Magic style the most, but nu Jazz fusions are somewhat outdated so commercially speaking, this is a move that'll keep him relevant

people's taste in music changes over the years, there's still a bunch of intricate layers to Bonobo's newer works and even on this album he explored some of his older production sounds. a lot of his older work was limited to the small amount of equipment he had, heavily focused on loops and samples, this is a full exploration of what he can do now that he's settled into his new home and his own home studio.
