I just love these "from bush to bonsai" transformations... they really show you can create a nice tree from bushy plants. And also I'm from sweden which makes this even cooler. I searched "pine yamadori styling" cuz this is only my third year of doing bonsai and i wanted some inspiration for how you can style a yamadori pine. Me n my grandpa found an amazing spot in 2020 which is basically a dig site. and we dig on the hill which has been blown out by manual explosion by man so the trees on the hill will be removed in the end; it's basically an unused forest of yamadori... So much amazing material there too... Just beautiful pines and super twisty birch trees with a lot of character.

You are a great teacher. Most videos don’t explain the what and why behind decisions. THANK YOU!!

What gauge wire did you use to begin? It Looked pretty thick. & where do you get your wire? Where did you get your raffia?
@ShohinbonsaiEurope
@ShohinbonsaiEurope 5 лет назад
The wire is aluminum wire, and therefore a little thick. Raffia is bought at a normal garden nursery.

Sir Morten ,how long will it take to get the raffia be removed from the trunk of the bonsai tree?
@ShohinbonsaiEurope
@ShohinbonsaiEurope 5 лет назад
Hi Alain. The wire, and therefore also the raffia, have to sit for about 1,5 - 2 years. The trunk and thicker branches grows very slow, and it takes time for it to settle.
