I find that you can make the loop to the streamer/hook as big or small as you want by pushing and working the lines of the knot before you tighten down. You know you tied it correctly when the tag is 90° to the knot. Great knot. The traditional loop knot is also good because when tied properly the tag end points toward the streamer/fly/hook and is less likely to pick up grass, slime, etc for a cleaner presentation. The loop knot is a Mandatory Required knot when using crawler/spinner harness leaders to the length to your favorite rig. You would be surprised the number of advanced anglers in my skill set that have NO idea how to tie this knot!
@@AZFlyShop LMAO....I know you are fly fish guy and I was once one too back in the 70s, but I have fished selected tournaments on 3 walleye circuits in the past 33 years as a Pro and founded the Michigan Walleye Tour. You would ALSO be surprised on the amount of high level tournament walleye guys who have no frickin idea on how to cast a modern baitcasting reel without getting a backlash. Some of these guys have their own TV show too and I refer to them as "Spinning Reel Stupid" as they still think using the reel to spool up new line on a spinning reel as they wonder why they still get line twist. DUH..... Being retired and now a fishing guide, I give a free baitcasting reel casting/fishing clinic during the summers where I take 7 people and show them in 4 hours how it is done. I now have to take advance reservations because of word -of -mouth popularity. Keep up your good work.
