figured that one out myself since I used to do that sort of thing on games like Ark (most buildings I built had all the pipes and wires underneath the floor, having always built one segment high as a start for a build anyway, also prevented any ground or grass from clipping)
@@SA80TAGE So true... If you plan your interior decoration right and give your workbench/forge enough space in the beginning, then adding all those upgrades in the right spot is really rewarding. I really like my dedicated smithing room, as well as my wood workshop. :)
That "always go right" thing for the crypt is a long established method of never being lost in a maze, so im not surprised that it works so well, and is what i do myself, except i always go left.
generally best thing to do but its only to find the exit safely to explore whole dungeons as in games with big ones you will miss the rooms in the middle this way
I watched your previous videos and loved them. And subsequently hated every other long-winded loser wasting 20 minutes of my time with their promos and worthless tips. Bless you for being brief and more useful than all of them combined
Tip: Copper and silver deposits are like iceburgs, a majority of the vein is burried, so be sure to dig in a circle down until you cant no more to get all of that sweet sweet metally goodness.
@@alpatr0s596 True, but since repairs are free aside from the time to do them, this just means you can dig out the deposit and then lure a troll to it to do the actual mining instead! I just carry two picks nowadays...
I don't know about mining other than copper and tin since I just defeated 2nd boss. But I build workbench + bed near mining site so I can repair my antler pickaxe and sleep when night comes. Let me know if other ores need more than antler pickaxe.
@@-Shibbi You'll upgrade your pickaxe soon enough, yeah, and you'll eventually require a forge to repair it. In the meantime your method is sound. If it works for you, then it works.
One tip from me: When exploring swamp Sunken Crypts, they have these two green torches outside. Knock off one torch to indicate that this Crypt is currently being explored. Knock off the second torch once done to visually show that Crypt is emptied. This helps you as well as any other people on the server to avoid disappointing of entering empty crypts.
@@nightdeveloper Thanks! Emphasis is on the Multiplayer part when people conduct independent explorations. Map markers are not shared with other players (at least in the current release). They are still handy for personal use to navigate locations more easily.
I invented a tip! For those stone structures that are a good source of stone. Use a pickaxe to dig a bit below their surface. Then use a hoe to flatten the land under it to your level. The structure will collapse giving fast free stone without the use of a stonecutter.
You can roll common trees and whack them into Birch trees to knock them down, then continually roll the fallen Birch tree into other trees to eventually break it for Finewood. It's tricky, but once you get the hang of it you can do the same against Oak. You can make a finewood bow even before encountering the first boss, or make a selection of furniture that requires finewood for a great comfort buff in the early game. Love your videos! Hope you get more recognition.
That's what I did. Some other guy did a video talking about how "idiotic" it is and is probably wondering why he's got so many dislikes. It made it much easier for me to survive in the Black Forest until I could make bronze.
@@HeadHunterSix some people out there very easy offended my friend, like simple criticism or doing something step ahead is somekind of insult for them,i get some silly reply when i said bosses in this game lack of challenge, they told me to fight boss naked with pick axe only, like is all my bad for using whats the game mechanic provide
when mining silver (or anything really) and don't want stone/resin/dwarf eyes taking up inventory space, split the stack of the main item you're harvesting so that only one of those items takes up all inventory slots.
Better planting tip. Zoom in and plant your first of the row. Notice as you walk foreward the next seed will scroll over the first and remain red until it clears over, angle yourself to where it lands on the ground the perfect distance away. PRESS C to walk, now just spam place as you walk and place down a perfect row
Finally an actual guide with 0 bull** and straight to the point. None of those 1min intro and talk talk talk and "without wasting time lets get to the video" after wasting time to actually get to the video. Good video man liked and subscribed for sure!
Still don't get why he needs a new PC, everyone has the same issues with lag, its the game not the machine running it. And if its because he has grass off, that's just another tip to see things like mushrooms easier, nothing to do with how well he's running the game
Should be a well known “trick” but, your ship/item sank down the water; you can luckily see it because of shore but can’t get it ? Build a quick high ladder system and jump all the way from the top. This makes you dive all the way below water surface (cuz physics bitch) and you can press E quickly to grab your stuff. Yell “CANNONBALL” for extra dive power
@@fishfingerz29 i have so many nails that are on the bottom of some 6ft deep water next to my base from ships getting destroyed while im away lol. im bout to rescue them.
Early game copper upgrades are better done at the copper node. Dig a pit beside a copper node, and set up a roofed workbench, fire, portal and smelter (I get the coal through the portal to save space) As you smelt the copper you are able to place down a forge with upgrades to produce all your bronze gear. Still have to go on tin runs but it's lighter than copper. No having to move tons of ore You can also portal all that excess stone back to base for when you build your castle later on.
for the boat, you can just break it with a sword/ any weapon, since it drops all the materials its made off, you make a workbench anywhere and you replate it in the water, that way you can even take the boat in pieces through the portal so you just have to make 1 trip to take bach your ores .
Patches of mushrooms are 'set' and will always spawn in that area. Contrary to what the small mushroom huts would imply, they just have their small area marked as mushroom 'ready'.
Tip: I bring campfires to swamp dungeons to not only dry myself off, but also it counts as rested because its shelter. Makes for easy stamina gains while mining the scrap piles. Also you can place the campfires on top of the torches just in case.
Thank you for your bullet point style. It's a welcome change of pace to the other creators that try to build a brand instead of helping their fellow gamers. Much appreciated
For quick planting you can just sprint back while spamming LMB, then don't move your mouse, step to the side, go to the beginning, wait for stamina and sprint back while planting again. Enjoy your beautiful evenly spaced rows of carrots and turnips
This video is champion. So much info, such short time, easy to hop back and forth. You didn't waste time fleshing out your video with useless junk and your own opinions; this is concise and clear: I love it, instant subscription after this single video - keep it up!
Question from reddit on boat storage, some build docks, that's great on base but when exploring I just axe that boat a few questions and take the parts with me across land. Or store in in a chest.
when planting crops look almost directly down over top of already planted crop you'll see the red blocked indicator, moving in a straight line forward tapping W you'll see the plant jump over the already planted crop depending on how far your looking up or down. if you get it right you just spam W and left click and get perfectly spaced crops in a straight line. hope this helps I've plated thousands of carrots like this
I build my forge/bench upgrades above them on small pieces of floor. Your farming tips are blessedy timed. We just got out flax and barley. Time to dig out my abandoned polearm!
You can use trolls for deforesting and mining, just lead them to a tree you wanna process or rock you wanna smash, hold up your tower shield and get to work. One good swing from a troll vs five or so from a pickaxe or an axe and boom you level up your blocking skill while gathering vast quantities of resources.
Best Valheim or just tutorial youtuber in general, honestly No stupid loud opening music where I have to scramble to turn the volume down No "HEY EVERYONE WELCOMEBACKTOANOTHEREPISODEOF" No "SMASH THELIKEBUTTON AND DONTFORGET TO SUBSCRIBE" No wasting time talking about some nonsense Just brief and concise information Thank you.
2:00 WTF... best god damn use of paint I've ever seen, that's some effort... SUBED My man so fast gotta rewind the video just to make sure I didn't miss anything
1) Can place campfires in troll caves(which block trolls and can cause dps) 2)In swamp can dig out under the fire geisers causing the spawning fire dudes to spawn and dieI(great farm for coal and cores) this also works for other spawners with spike traps/campfires but less effective 3)If you break your ship(or lose items) close to shore, build a ladder(tall structure) and jump off, to sink and grab 4)enemies are attracted to light, so put torches where you want enemies to walk, like inside spike traps 5)Harpoon trolls into a pit, they make great guards, and if you need to heal them harpoon a shaman into the pit to heal them up(the shaman will despawn but trolls wont) 6)Generally speaking baiting mobs to work for you, clearing trees, fighting other mobs always helps 7)You can break trees early game, like birch or oak by rolling logs from other trees into them(it takes a while but if you want to get fine wood early is helps) 8)If you arent worried about stat loss, if you want to cheese a boss, just suicide into them and keep rushing and picking up your corpse and fighting till the death as the corpse run effect makes you basically invincible for a bit(generally its not worth it but if you want to progress quickly) 9)Stone pillars in the plains will float if you dont remove too many layers from the bottom(1 layer is usually okay) (cool floating base)
Just dig a quick trench around the copper node, you'll need to dig it anyway to get to the entire buried copper node. This way no enemies can get to you, including trolls
you can push normal tree logs and make them crash against a birch tree to make it fall, then you can keep crashing the logs to break the birch one and craft yourself a tier 2 bow in really early game without using copper or risking to use a troll.
your vids are awesome, no mumbling arounf for 5 minutes telling everyone about a giveaway or discord server and random crap.. your vids are straight to the point, Very Gud 10/10
Also the black forest has stone structures that give a lot of stone if you aren't ready for the mountain, or plains biomes. Yellow mushrooms do regrow in the caves, crypts, etc so keep their markers on your map for a quick farming run, even though I didn't have much use for them late game. The red mushrooms also seem to regrow in the exact same spots, even if you use the hoe to clear the grass from the area to see them better.
Things I've found out about after 60 hours is that you can ctlr + click to quickly put items into chests, you can press . and , to zoom in and out of the minimap, you can dodgeroll out when using the cart to detach it quickly, you can hold a torch in the dark forest (and maybe an axe or something) and the greydwarves will not attack (except for throwing rocks) and lastly, if you put a 45 degree beam on the ground and then get the stakewall piece and aim your cursor near the lower end of it, the stakewall will go into the ground and npc's will not be able to go over it but you can jump over it. Not really a tip but it looks like a nice fence for boars or wolves or something or a not so obvious wall. You will have to break the 45 degree beam and place it next to the previous stake wall piece every time to get a new bit of stakewall in, which takes some time.
I don't know if people know this, probably they do and its old news(I'm new to the game) but never heard someone mentioning it: if you go into a burial or a crypt or a dark place and you don't have a torch or mats to make one but have fire arrows? Just shot one in the ceiling or a wall and it's going light up the whole room, it's awesome.
You can make a surtling spawner farm by mining a circle around the spawner and they will slowly die the moment they spawn from the water once you are done with crypts to can pick up some cores and coal
The always go on one side tips (I prefer, follow/walk along one wall) was given to me by my father when I was a child, he told me it was to escape from labyrinth I never checked the origin but it does work now that I know algorithm, always helped me in games.
The crypt tip works the majority of the time. I've had 1 or 2 crypts and tombs with circular sections where always turning left or right will not lead you back to the exit. They are pretty small sections and its easy to spot when you're going in circles though.
My personal tips: #1 - Take a stonecutter and workbench to a skeleton stone tower. Set them nearby and now you can demolish the stone tower for easy stone by destroying the lowest layer of blocks and letting it collapse. #2 - Atgiers special spin attack will stun trolls. Do the spin attack, stun them, and regain stamina until they become un-stunned, then do the attack again. This takes their health down pretty quick and keeps you from draining all your stamina and also avoids damage. #3 - If you're trying to build a stone wall with 2x2 stone ramparts, you can start in a corner to give the 2x2 stone two points of contact which means it won't collapse. You can then continue along the rest of the wall.
#1 - while that indeed is the most efficient way of doing things, if you haven't reached iron age, just use a pickaxe, sword or Stagbreaker to destroy the lower layer of blocks.
Fast way to farm surtling cores and coal: 1. While in the swamp, find the fire geysers where the surtlings spawn 2. Mine away the ground around the geyser until everything is full of water 3. Surtlings will continuously spawn, die in the water, and respawn 5. Go and do whatever you want to do 4. After some time the ground will be full of their loot (surtling cores and coal) 5. Profit (not sure whether it only works while you're in the area, but I suppose so)
Some words of wisdom when making treehouses. Always build support beams FROM THE TREE, always make sure to take into consideration their stability. The less beams touching more building pieces while extended from trees, the less resources it takes for more stability. Additionally, always be sure to build between two trees if you're building in the Black Forest, or more-so between the branches of the almighty indestructible trees of the Swamp. Also, better to choose the almighty indestructible swamp trees than the black forest ones... for obvious reasons, of course.
I kinda like having the forge/bench upgrades visible. I like using it as clutter to give the space more personality. But of course that's a builders PoV, and I agree it does get cramped, but hey, it's all about how you arrange the mess :)
I use the thatch roof to make a boat bumper at the front of my dock closest to my base. When I return from a trip I just ram my boat into the V shaped bumper I made and it nicely settles it backwards a bit and perfectly next to my dock
Thistle, berries and mushrooms respawn, so you can mark them on your map for a reliable farm. Thistle respawns every 4 hours, and time passes whenever someone is playing on the server.
That craft cancel would have been a really useful one to know before I have accidentally crafted a new silver sword instead of upgrading the one I already had.
Maybe this is obvious, but when me and my brother need to smelt up 500 iron scraps after a crypting session, we turn all our surtling cores into kilns and fill with core wood (which seems to make more coal than normal) and make the coal we need. Then we break all the kilns and replace with smelters then smelt all the scraps up. It gets a bit laggy when you have 30+ smelters going at once but it’s faster than having some sort of smelter pile that drops all the bars in one place because you are using all the cores you have, on just the thing you need. on a side note, we don’t process more than 500 at a time because apparently that’s the item cap in valheim, after that stuff seems to disappear.
Yes, hi. The Forge counts as a fire, so lay down a Deer carpet or hang a few banners or anything that gives comfort. If you take a bit longer to browse crafting recipes it'll refresh your rested buff.
the big hammers (like the stag breaker and iron sledge) also work. Just never use them on carrots or turnips, because those just get yeeted out of existence for some reason.
All weapons and attacks work, so long as the plant is ready to be harvested. Damage before that time kills the plant (yes, you can punch a plant out of existence). Troll swings are particularly effective at clearing a garden.
You can also just break your boat with an axe and then pick up the mats. You can even take them through portals, meaning you can portal your boat directly to a swamp and build it there.
1)Tree-houses (~20 wood+portal parts) 10ft up in trees and a ladder that doesn't quite touch ground are PERFECT portal locations/outposts 2) Destroying boat in (very) shallow water to put it "in your pocket" for later 3) Prioritize farming 1-2 star boars (harpoon don't herd) and turnip seeds (rare swamp) ASAP and you'll thank yourself later! 4) Use Trenches and Treehouses liberally! 5) Nothing spawns inside of workbench radius 6) When in challenging area use R to quick holster/unholster weapon/shield combinations (hello deathsquito) 7) Get used to carrying both Bow, Shield - they're both a must (Clubs too IMO)
When building, note that any wood structure touching a stone structure will be blue, meaning it has maximum integrity, even if the stone piece it is touching is red. This allows you to build very high.

instead of moving a boat with roofs, just disassemble it. it returns all the materials it took to make the boat. since its on land you can just pick it all up and place a new boat down in the water!
I'm not sure if this is basic knowledge, but stone walls count as foundations for wooden structures. You can see that the wood block on it is blue when you hover on it with the hammer. This is a key mechanic for building higher.
Press "C" to toggle walk. Plant something then fiddle with the aim(above the previously planted crop) for the spacing. Walk and spam click to always plant at the same distance in a row. follow the fence/edge of field/previous row of crops on the side.
